Dead Man's Hand... Wild Bill Hickok died when he was shot in the back playing poker at Saloon Number 10 in Deadwood, South Dakota during the gold rush of 1876. Though the identity of the fifth card is widely disputed, legend says Wild Bill's hand also consisted of two pairs--aces and eights--now known as the "the dead man's hand".
