I spent days going back and forth between this and a heritage rough rider. I was actually able to go see a rough rider at a store and thought it was very cheaply made. I am so glad I went with this puma / howa / chiappa. It's sweet! I shot some magnums today and it goes through steel! It's very accurate and fun. So glad I got the redicioulus size biggest one they make. So much fun. Put up cans an knock em all down from pretty durn car away. Very happy. Don't hesitate!!!

I haven't shot the gun yet so I'm only commenting on the appearance and my first impression. I looked at other cheap 1873 22's and I think this is by far the best looking, the frame don't have that funky cast aluminum finish. I'm not in love with the grips (Black or white mine came with both) but for under 200.00 bucks for a 22LR/Mag I'm very pleased. It looks the part and with adjustable sights should be accurate. I had to mail order 22 Mag bullets, I got a box for 16 bucks so I'll try it out and see if it falls apart. Bought the Buds lifetime guarantee......... If it does I'll trade it in on a Desert Eagle

This is a neat addition to one's collection. It is my first Chiappa firearm. I have several Heritage revolvers. This firearm came available with 22LR/22MAG cylinders like my Heritage revolvers. One difference between Chiappa and Heritage convertible revolvers is the Chiappa uses a single bushing that is interchangeable between the two cylinders. The Heritage revolvers all use the same cylinder rod for both cylinders. I have dropped the Chiappa bushing every time I change cylinders. The Chiappa is fairly accurate with the 12" barrel. After shooting 50 rounds through the 22LR cylinder, I changed to the 22MAG one. After about 18 rounds through it, the ejector tube, ejector rod and spring launched forward to the ground. It seems that the ejector screw came loose allowing the ejector to separate from the revolver. I used Chiappa's online request form to tell them of the problem. They responded with a request to sen them a picture of the screw. Since the screw disappeared into the grass, I sent them a picture of the revolver with the ejector tube, ejector rod and spring alongside the revolver. Chiappa sent me a replacement screw. When I installed it, I followed the advice of many of the gunsmiths on YouTube and used Loctite Blue to hold the screw in place. I have not fired it with new screw. The range called me to tell me they found what might be my screw. When I picked it up, it looked like the end of the screw was stripped. That may have been the root cause of the failure. All things considered this firearm is worth having in your collection. When you pull it out, folks around you take notice of the long barrel. Checkout the Buntline history on the internet.
