Tapco SKS Gas Tube w/Handguard (Yugo Only)

Purchased for a re-do of a well used SKS. Made swapping gas tubes a snap as no need to punch retaining pin out of the original and matches perfectly to the Tapco stock also purchased for the retro-fit. Stellar service as usual from Buds.

Good product. Got it for my Yugo sks. And it work flawlessly. Easy to install. And take off for cleaning. If I ever get another sks I’ll be buying another

I found a video to help install this gas tube along with the Tapco stock replacement kit I bought also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0xsY-nlk1A The funny thing is, he made this video 5 years ago and I had to do the exact same thing to the gas tube assembly as him. As he explains in the video, you have to file just a tiny bit of the top of the gas tube to get the retainer to close and hold it in place. I did that, and it fit in my SKS perfectly. It was only a small amount of hand filing I had to do. Watch the video if you buy this, and you will see him explain it in detail when it comes to putting it back together.

Works great. Much better than trying to tap out the pins from your original wood tube when putting the hand guard on that comes with the stock kit. Be warned you will have to do some very easy smithing to get this to fit. I looked at the angle of my original and matched it to the new one with a little grinding. You must also put it on before you put the rifle in the new furniture. Used my Dremel tool tube works like a charm! I will get this again with my next sks.

*****READ BEFORE BUYING THIS GAS TUBE****** This gas tube and handguard (TAPCO part number SKS6601) only fits certain rifles. This item was defined to fit the Yugoslavian 59/66 SKS. I can tell you from personal experience that this gas tube will not work in a Chinese Norinco SKS. The TAPCO part number for the gas tube that FITS EVERY OTHER SKS is SKS6632. I received the hand guard... no gas tube. : ( I called Buds. They referred me to Tapco. I called Tapco, they said that all of their kits come with the hand guards and to call Buds and tell them that they didn’t ship the gas tube. I called Buds and they said “Why would Tapco, where the items are shipped, tell you to call us”. After further speaking with Buds, they kindly offered to send a shipping label and for me to return all of the items; and they would return them to Tapco; who would then resend the order….”. Just want my gas tube… $41.00. I bought the insurance. But now it’s Friday and I’m sure I will not here back from anyone until possibly Monday. I’ll give them time, just frustrating.
