The SSG P IV was developed by Steyr engineers for special security units, who required the option of adding a sound suppressor onto a precision, MOA performing rifle. The SSG 69 P IV features a 16"(409 mm) heavy, cold hammer forged precision barrel, which is threaded at the muzzle to accommodate either a flash hider or a sound suppressor. In addition, its rate of twist(1-12") is suitable to fire subsonic ammunition.
