Great shooting rifle. Less bulky than the sharps but still has a great history behind it. I added a marbles tang sight on mine. This thing will punch 2" groups at 200 yards. I took a whitetail deer with it at 165 yards. Action is super smooth. Trigger is about 2 lbs. So if you are worried about not having a double trigger, don't be. Doesn't take much to touch it off. So if you are hunting with it, best to keep the finger away from the trigger until you are solid on your aim point. One of my favorite guns to shoot! This thing turns some heads when it bellows at the range.

After dealing with a warrantee issue, this gun is about as good a shooter as I have ever owned.

So glad I purchased this rifle. It is beautifully made, a great value, and I’m very happy with it’s operation and accuracy. Bud’s customer service was excellent and I’ll shop here again.

Well thats not good. I inspected it at my local FFL dealer and everything looked good. I brought it home and gave it a good cleaning than commenced to shoot it for the very first time. I loaded a round and went to take aim and something didnt seem right with the stock. I checked to see if the screws were tight and they were, it turns out that there is a hair line crack in the grip of the stock. I will contact Taylors and Co. tomorrow to see how they wish to handle this issue. I will report back latter on.

When I received my Taylors Highwall the first word that popped into my head was "stunning " , I mean the wood , the color-case hardened receiver , the blue octagonal barrel were absolutely beautiful , but in reality all that is meaningless , the only thing that really matters is how well will it shoot . Accuracy is on par with my Marlin 1895's which is one to two inch groups - if I do my part - with tang mounted rear sight and a globe front sight . The extractor was a little tight with some cases needing to be knocked out with a cleaning rod , this seems to have worked itself out with no problems after about 20 rounds . I think it was fitted very tight and needed a little break-in period . All in all I am very pleased and I am looking forward to taking a deer this fall with my Highwall . Buds is always great to work with and generally has the best price .

Excellent reproduction of the 1885 Highwall. Firearms fit and function were flawless. Beautiful firearm. Vary fast shipping from Buds. I'm very pleased with this purchase. FYI, this firearm does not appear so, but it is heavy, around ten pounds, but this to me is a plus given the 45-70's recoil.

Uberti is showing that this model only has the one single set trigger. They are showing that they have tang sights available for it, and it looks like one of the screws replaces an existing one on the receiver/tang, but I am not sure if it is predrilled for the rear screw of the tang sight. Unfortunately, Buds is not showing that they have the sights available, but Ubertis is showing them here: https://www.shopuberti.com/sights/360994 and the listing for the rifle shows what it looks like mounted here: https://www.uberti-usa.com/1885-high-wall-rifle
