Love this little handgun. A collectors dream. Got it for a low price. Shoot fairly well with just a few misfires, probably the cheap Russian ammo.

Nice surplus pistol in 9x18 Makarov. Looks similar to Walther PP series gun. Also known as CZAK, P64 pistols were formerly used by Polish military & police. Very compact but being all steel it has some weight to it.

Changed the recoil spring and hammer spring. Was a better trigger pull but it was gritty even after a good cleaning, Wasn't impress. Sold the weapon and will by no more surplus firearms.

Neat little gun. Very similar to the Walther PPK and hurts about as much to shoot. Traded it.

I received the firearm about a week after purchase. Buds took two to three days before they would ship it but it was worth the wait. This P64 was not my first 9mm Mak gun, that was a FEG PA 63. My initial impressions were wow, what great worksmanship! It truly looked awesome with very deep quality bluing. Fit and finish of the parts on the exterior were incredible, far better than the raw lightly polished FEG Pa 63. It was like comparing a Bersa Thunder to an actual PPK, which the P64 does a good job at replicating. On top of that the double action trigger, though heavy, was no where near being 20 to 30 pounds like some reported P64 examples. The one I received is around 15 pounds, heavy but reasonable. That was until I got it home with some snap caps to test it in some basic dry cycling test. The gun kept having multiple failure to feed issues with the slide getting stuck. I spent some time taking a small file and sand paper to smooth out the feed ram and take some of the burs off the chamber. I also rounded off the ejector portion of the internal slide stop as the snap caps seemed to of been getting hung up on that. Then the lips of the magazine seemed a bit tight so I filed both mags down on the front inside at the top on both sides. Then I oiled the magazine. I will say the above paid off. I had only one failure to go into battery when I first chambered. I fired about a 100 rounds out of it so far and it runs like a champ. Now your example may vary. I personally do not feel I need to lighten the hammer spring on mine, others have ridiculously heavy double action trigger pulls. I will say though I had the strangest thing happen. Now the vast majority of auto loaders I owned are traditional double action autos (first shot double then every other shot single). The first time I pulled the trigger under live fire I pulled it so hard, the gun jumped a little under recoil. I expected the single action to be much heavier and the second shot fired mil-seconds after the first shot! I had unintentionally bump fired fired! I kept shooting it and I ended up doing the same thing again! I prepped myself for the heavy first double action shot, the gun recoiled, and I applied too much pressure and fired a follow up shot through bump firing it! Nothing bad happened mind you, it was all down range. It's just a learning curve of the two trigger pulls, just like any other traditional double action auto. This one just has very extreme differences between the first double action shot and single. With that said, it's insanely accurate at 7 yards, and is fun to shoot. It will sting the web of your hand a bit after four or five magazines worth, perhaps sooner. With that said it's by no means unpleasant. This is not like shooting a ultra light weight five shot 357 magnum revolver with a two finger grip. No, this gun is actually very fun to shoot! It's just got a little kick to it! It's also small enough to pocket carry. I recommend getting one before they dry up!

Received the P64 from Bud's a while back. It was as described in excellent/very good condition. I will change the recoil spring and the hammer spring to Wolff's springs to reduce perceived recoil as the reaction to shooting 9 X 18's in such a small pistol strains the web of my hand after awhile. Otherwise, it is great little concealable pistol. It is very accurate for a pistolet. I understand why it stayed in production for so long at the Radom plant in Poland. I am glad that I now own a little part of Eastern European history. Thanks to Bud's and to the local FFL for all their help.

These are in very nice condition, I have 2 and will add wolfe springs to lower very high factory pull springs to make the pistols an easier shoot for my small old hands.

1971 issue in perfect condition. Looks unused. Holster also looks unused and in great condition. If you are thinking of getting one, I highly recommend replacing the hammer and recoil spring with ones from Wolf. With the original springs, the DA trigger is unusable.
