Customer Reviews 13 Customer Reviews Average 4.7 out of 5 David B I wanted to wait with the review until I had used the shotgun, I purchased it on July 1st it shipped on the 2nd and picked it up on the 5th of July. Thanks Buds, great shipping. Since then I have fired over 300 rounds through it, everything from slugs and 00 buck to target shot and everything ran great, not one single problem. This is a great little shotgun at a great price. Thanks Buds! 2 months ago Glen K Ordered my Savage 320 on a Monday, got it in to my FFL dealer that Friday! Way to go Buds Guns!
Out of the box, the Savage is wonderful. I checked to insure the safety and slide release worked fine, and dry fired it several times before taking it outside.
First thing I noticed is the ghost sights. The rear sight is a tad smaller than most other ghost sights I've aimed through on other guns. It makes target alignment easier and bringing it up to target seemed much easier.
I tried 7 1/2 birdshot first. Tight pattern of about 9 inches out at 20 yards. Wonderful! Then onto 00 buckshot. Two rounds, right on target with about a six inch spread maximum. Loved it!
The shotgun does short-stroke and it's an operator problem. With the longer extended pump forearm I noticed I was holding it closer to the receiver. Every time recoil came into play, my hand grip naturally brought the action back about an inch or so. This caused the round to start to come out, but not forcefully like a full pump action. I compared it to my Mossberg 590A1 and realized I was holding my grip way too far back. By changing my grip to the forward part of the pump forearm (thinner section), this problem was immediately remedied.
Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the shotgun's ability. It's a great tactical shotgun for home defense. Might even take it for squirrel this fall. And the price? Absolutely unbelievable! At under $200.00 it's a steal! 6 months ago Show More Reviews...
