Customer Reviews 44 Customer Reviews Average 4.7 out of 5 Jesse S Well I am impressed, I have shot about 300 rounds of Tulammo and Wolf, some old Norico ammo also some silver bear and it has performed flawlessly with the 2 mags that came with it and the other 3 I purchased/ Those are 2 Thermold mags and a Magpul mag. I have coming soon 2/20 round mags also by Tapco.
Pros: Out of the box the rifle shot true, sights where fairly on at 50-65 yards. I cleaned it up and went to the range in the snow and cold, thought that was the proper way to shoot a AKM 47 rifle, cold crappy weather. This rifle is great, functions like a AKM should, No FTF FTE's stove pipes nothing, The more I shoot it the better it gets, and everything was true and straight upon inspection at my FFL.
Price was another PRO on this rifle.
The pistol grip had to go, was way to small for my large hands, put on a Magpul MOE AK grip
I also replaced the muzzle device that was on it, got a Tapco slotted muzzle brake, still have the old one and switch out from time to time.
The biggest CON of them all, that butt stock, the cheek slap is crazy if you don't hold it just right. I am looking at other options out there but not many. I really love the performance of this rifle but that butt stock if not held in the proper placement will smack the heck out of your cheek. I was told by Century Arms when I contacted them about it, they told me that here in mid April they are coming out with a Warsaw style butt stock for this rifle. It will be wood also and have the some wooden colors. I have also looked into a M76 butt stock for it but they are usually always out of stock and either the wrong color or I would have to stain them myself.
In all great rifle and I would buy it again without hesitation. Shoots great and true, love the wood look but have been thinking about getting something different in that department also,
I would recommend this rifle to anyone out there looking for a great quality AKM for the this price point. 4 days ago david w i figured the stock photo was the best it could look but i was surprised. in this case the stock photo did not do it justice. for the money, this has to be best ak47 out there for under $1000. i had heard these come with 2 steel bolt hold open mags but mine did not. it came with one steel romanian surplus and one tapco plastic mag. neither was impressive. it did not come with any bayonet like the romanian wasr-10s. it did come with a cleaning rod which most of the other reviews did not mention. the picture does not show the cleaning rod. i think the rod improves the look of the rifle. my sights were good and straight. the wood finish is very nice. the buttstock is somewhat oversized but it could be sanded down or replaced. the plastic grip feels nice in the hand. the finish on the rifle is good. i had a few metal shaving inside the receiver. my top dust cover was dented on the side were the charging handle slides back but that was the only flaw i could find so i decided to not send it back and deal with the return. the safety selector is very stiff but i am sure it will loosen up. overall it is a good looking gun. i think the price is very fair for what you get. one of the biggest negatives is that most of the aftermarket grips and stocks will not fit this yugo type rifle. ironwood designs makes some very nice wood stock sets for the yugo but they are expensive and they take 4 to 6 weeks to deliver. i am giving this a 4 star feedback due to the dust cover and metal shavings in the receiver. century arms has stepped up there quality control but its still not 100%. i would recommend this n-pap over the wasr-10. 2 weeks ago Show More Reviews...
