love this gun. When I’m shooting with friends or family it always comes out. The guys always love it. After all it’s a Henry

As always, a good quality rifle from Henry. Came out of the box with no issues, save one. That is this gun has issues with loading leverevolution rounds by Winchester. The magazine tube has to be really forced down a few times to get around the rim of the neck of the cartridge where the bullet goes in to get it down, which unfortunately doesn't make for fast reloads. Idk why but the guns I receive, one issue I've had constantly is in the magazine, whether it be a semi auto or a lever action. I also wish this rifle came with a butt stock recoil pad. 45-70 has a lot of recoil. Other than those things, I love this rifle

I have several Henry’s and you can’t go wrong with any of them. This here is one awesome gun. Not heavy very reliable and dead accurate. Would love to have every gun Henry makes. Made in America or not made at all.

Had this gun for several years. Hunting in the woods of Ky for deer doesn’t get any better When using this lever action. Great all around gun with great looks and fun to shoot. Very accurate for lever gun, 200yds is no problem for it.

Ok this is my first Henry, add me to the Henry lovers crowd. I have several other Lever action guns a Marlin 336 in 30-30 made in the early 70's and a Bicentennial Winchester 1976. The Winchester is more of a nice to look at gun rather than a shooter, only shot it a couple times. The Marlin has been shot a lot my first centerfire rifle, so I have a sentimental love for it. I feel certain Ruger will bring back the old Marlin reputation. The Henry is beautiful almost too much to bang around in the woods with, I got it for deer and feral hogs and very rarely shoot more than 125 yards so the 45-70 cartridge is perfect for hogs perhaps a little much for deer. Took it to my range today and shot 3 different type of ammo Hornady Lever action 325 grain, Federal Fusion 300 grain and Remington 405 grain all three functioned perfectly in the silky smooth action Henry is famous for. My Henry prefers the Hornady and the Federal with the iron sights I did have to move the rear sight to its highest position to get the groups on the target at 50 yards. The windage was perfect from the factory. The Remington was still a bit low at 50 yards without moving the blade on the rear sight, I chose not to do it because I am going to put a Leopold on it when the mounts come in. Yes scoping a lever action rifle looks wrong to me also, this is a hunting rifle and at 100 yards the front beed covers a good bit of a steel silhouette. I used a shooting stick at 100 yards leaning against my bench to steady and got the Hornady to group at 2.3 inches 3 rounds and the Fusion at 2.8 inches 3 rounds. Shooting a 45-70 leaning over a bench not my idea of fun. Honestly the recoil seems to be greater on the 300 grain than the 405 grain none of the recoil from any of the rounds was more than a 12 gage with the exception of the old Browning light 12 (Humpy) which had almost no recoil hence Light in the name. Finally no side gate I didn't think I was going to be a fan, since all my lever actions have them except this one. Well for now I like it just as much, less moving parts and many times when I go hunting I don't see a deer ready to harvest or a hog that smelled me first and you can remove the Brass magazine tube and pour the rounds out with out cycling thru the chamber. I also feed a couple rounds at the range today by opening the action and placing a round in the chamber and closing the action. Seemed faster than shoving it in the side gate and cycling the action. My new Favorite gun Henry attention to detail is old school made in USA PERFECT!!! Buds as always second to none Ordered on Thursday shooting it on Tuesday!!

This is a very nice firearm. Well mage and worth the money. I never shot a 45-70 before. Kicks like a mule! But fun to shoot. I would buy again.

I have been wanting to get a Henry Lever 45-70 for many years and I finally got one. It is a very well put together rifle. I looks just as good as it shoots, just watch the recoil. After my family and friends had their turn to shoot it, now they will be purchasing one in the future.
I do have one regret about the Henry Lever 45-70 and that is I didn't purchase one sooner
Awesome weapon

The nicest firearm I have ever owned. It is just a joy to shoot. Hands down one of the most accurate firearms out of the box I have ever fired. I can't wait to add more Henry rifles to my collection!
