Overall very impressed. I got my Mosin within a week of placing the order. I inspected the bore and furniture for any defects and everything looked good. Took it out the range after spending an hour or so cleaning off the cosmoline and was quite surprised by how well it shot. I started aiming low since I read these guns have a tendency to shoot high and at 100 yards my elevation was right on. It is shooting a little right but nothing a little playing around with the front sight wont fix. First purchase from Buds and can say I will be a repeat customer.

I am very disappointed in the rifle's condition. I would rate it as very strong good, but in no way is this excellent condition. The outside of the barrel had quite a few spots where the blueing is gone. There was even one spot on the outside of the barrel (that was under the wood of course) where the blueing was gone and it looked as if someone mig wielded the bad spot. Of course all the imperfections were underneath the stock so they were not noticeable when I inspected it at my FFL. It did have a bit more cosmoline than I expected, but it did clean up nicely. The inside of the stock had a crack right where the trigger shield and magazine would rest. The inside of the barrel had no pitting and still good rifling with only normal signs of wear. On a good note at least all the numbers did match except for the bayonet. It is difficult to place on the barrel and hard to remove and may cause further damage to the blueing on the barrel so I will most likely leave it off. I am not sure if I will fire it but it will make a nice conversation piece. As always with military surplus purchases it is a hit or miss situation.
