This is a very accurate and fun rifle, the stock is pure junk though. And replacement stocks are hard to find.

The Savage MKII FVSR is great little rifle! I am very happy with it. With a cheap BSA 3-9x40 scope I am getting 1/4" to 3/8" groups at 50yds with CCI Standard Velocity .22LR and Eley Club. Other European ammo also shoots 1/2" or better @ 50yds. It shoots best with Standard Velocity ammo and Subsonics, but also likes CCI Tactical. Have put about 1,400 rounds through it so far and I think it's getting more accurate every time I go to the range. Also like the Accu-trigger. I highly recommend this model or any other Savage Mark II because they all share the same action and trigger. Get the 10-round magazines if you can. At first it would only feed with 9 rounds in them, but now that the mags are broken in, I can shoot with 10 rounds in all 4 of them. I highly recommend this gun. I was shooting just as good (actually better than most) than other .22 shooters at the range with more expensive .22 guns (CZ 452 was the cheapest there besides my Savage), so that tells you something about the Savage Mark II. It's no match rifle by any means, but it is one of the greatest and classic Sporting rifles out there.

Fast shipping. The Savage FVSR is a nice little suppressor ready .22, for an excellent price of 249.99 shipped. It is hard to beat 250.00 for a gun of this quality. The action is great, the picatinny rail on the receiver is a nice addition. My only complaint is not with Buds but with Mossberg, when they speed up the process of producing it seems they cut corners, and the crown of this barrel was a little "rough", but it is nothing that can't be fixed with a few turns of a barrel reamer.

I wanted to like it but: I heard how accurate this rifle is for the money and liked the idea of a bolt action for working with the kids. Mine just groups very inconstantly. Cold bore shot is always way off. I'm not a new gun owner, and I know how to shoot. My gun just sucks. I tried a bunch of different ammo, including expensive stuff, and get the same results. Hundreds of rounds later no improvement. Mine just groups very inconstantly. Tried different scopes, checking tightness of the barrel nut, taking the barrel nut off, checked the looseness of the mount, checked the internals and barrel, and found no improvement. I have let others shot it and get the same thing. To top it off the factory mag is loose and sometimes sprays the bullets out if you don't squeeze it together frequently. I know that I can fix that but I don't feel like I should need to. Fit and finish are OK, but the top receiver cut out looks like it was done with a hacksaw.
