I bought the pistol a few days ago from Buds at a terrific price. The shipping and handling went well and straight to my FFL dealer which i picked up and went to the range this pistol is accurate right out of the box. Love It. It was a pleasure working with BUDS

Overall I would say this handgun is excellent. Not exactly as picture shows when ordering, but I am somewhat glad for that. (Picture has wood grips, my example had Hogue grips, a very positive and comfortable set of grips that I must admit I was planning on installing myself.)
The trigger pull is what you would expect from a factory handgun, so I installed a Volq. Mark II trigger kit into it and got rid of that pesky magazine disconnect (Seriously, I advise this. Not complicated and well worth the money!)
Overall I would say 5/5 and I can see why these are so hard to find!!

I bought the pistol a few days ago. I tried several different types of ammo. I bought this because I am purchasing a suppressor for the pistol. All the subsonic ammo I used (4 brands) did not cycle well. I had jams, stovepipes and a host of feeding problems. Anything with solid lead, this Ruger did not seem to like. Copper coated standard (4 brands), High speed (3 brands) and Hyper speed (2 brands) all did well. But again, anything that was solid lead did not feed well. Since the barrel is only 4 1/2 inches, I don't think that any of the rounds build up to break the sound barrier. With that said, the noise difference is almost, I repeat, almost the same. Accuracy - at 10 yds - all rounds hit within a 3" circle. The sights were right on, right out of the box. Once I match the right round with the pistol I am sure that will improve. I have a Mark III and I hit within a 1 1/2 inches at 10 yds. I am sure this Ruger will live up to that type of accuracy. Do I recommend this pistol? Yes, I think that this is a great pistol, a really good price and dealing with Buds was a pleasure.

To save time, I second the review written by Lind B. The pistol is terrific, but the disassembly and reassembly processes are difficult. I really suggest that if you buy this gun or any Mark III you watch the disassembly and reassembly video on the Ruger website. The reassembly video goes a bit fast, but you should watch it at least once before attempting to reassembly a Mark III. If you do not have the patience of a saint you might want to send the wife and kids to the movies or somewhere else so they don't have to hear you when you take on this challenge. Yes, it can be that difficult.
On the video the host will tell you that you need a small rubber hammer, a 1/4 inch dowl pin (4 to 6 inches should do it)(optional, but helps), and a paper clip. Yes, I said a paper clip and it will help you in pulling out the Mainspring Housing. Also, you will need the hammer! You will need it during both disassembly and reassembly. This is a very tight pistol.
In summary, I would give this pistol 5 stars for it's performance. It shoots very nicely as also stated by Lind B. However, I would give the disassembly and reassembly of this pistol 1 star. Overall, I will be nice and rate the pistol a 4 star only because it shots so beautifully. But, take a tranquilizer before you begin cleaning the pistol if you are short on patience.

I'll do this in sections:
Purchase & Shipping:
Absolutely fantastic, I've been pining over this pistol for some time; when my finances loosened up enough to get it I jumped on it. I signed up for an account that day, signed up for the VIP service, and ordered the pistol all in less than 10 minutes. It really went as smooth as smooth can go. It was shipped to a pawn shop less than 3 minutes from where I live within 3 days of ordering...talk about FAST!! Its was brand shiny new in the box, zipped up in a cool black canvas Ruger zipperbag, 2 clips, a Ruger lock & keys, internal safety keys, 1 tiny allen wrench & a partridge in a pear tree.
The Item:
Beautiful, fires like a champ, accurate, durable, this is something I see myself passing down to my grandkids in perfect working condition & I'm only 31. Please note that this has a composite (plastic) frame, I'm not complaining at all, just thought you may want to consider that if you didn't see it in the description. especially considering my next category...
Dis-assembly/Reassembly:
HOLY COW...let me start by saying that I make a habit of firing all my girls out of the box without peeking under the hood, then I take them home and take my time getting to know them. I've hit some snags with pistols before, but more often than not pistols are pretty intuitive about how they come apart and go back together. NOT SO with this baby. PLEASE REALIZE that when you watch the youtube videos on how to field strip this thing, theirs have been stripped enough to break in and make it appear easy-ish, yours will be brand spankin new and everything will be SUPER TIGHT and SUPER SNUG, this will ease up after a few teardowns, but just be ready for a bit of a trial the first couple of times. Pay VERY close attention to the youtube instructions on re-assembly, pointing up or pointing down matters depending on what step you're on; magazine in or magazine out matters, its very nuanced for a pistol, but once you get it down pat, it wont take you long to clean it, just dont give up.
Recommended Accessories:
Definitely pick up "The Ultimate Cliploader" from ama-zon or somewhere, you can literally load your MK III magazine in a few seconds without tearing up your fingers, its awesome. get a small plastic hammer for the breakdown, I'm so serious, that first time is brutal.
This is probably the most solid .22lr pistol out there, you won't regret it if you buy it.
