I have only had my Mossberg 817 for about 9 days and have only had it out shooting once. The rifle is even lighter than I expected, and it handles better. I was pleasantly surprised with the initial smoothness of the action and trigger. After an hour or so working the bolt after coating it with Rem Oil, it smoothed out even more. I've only fired 25 rounds through the rifle so far, and I am very pleased with the product and the service from Bud's Gun Shop.

The gun would not chamber a bullet so I sent it back. After one month and no word from mossberg I started calling and they have not touched the gun. The gun is made in Brazil but they have trouble getting parts. I think all they were doing was giving me the run around. Long story short they had the gun over three and a half months and never fixed it, finally after several calls they confessed it was not repairable so they gave my money back.

My second 817 purchase from buds GREAT service! The second one is for the wife. We use sweet 17 scopes for range use and just have a blast!
