The CW380 pistol has a 2.58 inch barrel, an overall length of 4.96 inches and a height of just 3.9 inches. It weighs just 10.2 ounces without a magazine. The pistol has a black polymer frame and features 4140 steel inserts molded into the front and back of the frame for added rigidity. It has a machined, solid 416 matte stainless steel slide and a textured polymer grip.

The Kahr CW380 features a lock breech, modified Browning type recoil lug, and utilizes Kahr's seven patents including the "safe cam" action found in all Kahr pistols. The result is a micro-compact pistol with very little recoil and quick follow-up shots. The pistol features drift adjustable white bar-dot combat rear sight and pinned-in polymer front sight.

Differences between the Kahr CW380 and Kahr P380 models include: the CW series has a conventional rifled barrel instead of the match grade polygonal barrel found on P models; the CW slide stop lever is MIM (metal-injection-molded) instead of machined; the CW series slide has fewer machining operations, and uses simple roll marking instead of engraved markings; the P380 comes with two magazines, but the CW series comes with one 6 rd steel magazine with flush baseplate. Lastly, the slide locks back after firing the last round – another feature missing on a number of other value-priced compact semi-auto pistols. The durability and reliability of the CW380 model makes it a strong consideration as a backup gun for law enforcement.

A great, softer shooting alternative to the LCP. Tough to beat for the money.

Pros: Fits great in pocket. Lightweight. Fairly accurate and manageable despite small size. Easy disassembly. Last round hold open.
Cons: No front metal slide guide rods leads to possibility of taking off plastic (cosmetic/resale issue). Unreliable chambering if racking the slide. Only reliable chambering (90%) is to take slide back, engage slide stop, and pull slide stop down. This leads to necessity of carrying chambered. 200 round break in is expensive shooting .40/round .380 auto ($80 break in).

Ultimately, I would buy this again. I only carry this when I cannot carry a Glock IWB. If I'm tucked in/in a suit, or will be active, this is handy to have around.

These "baby" Kahr CW and P380s are in my own opinion the best little pocket guns out there, and the reasons why are as follows: This purchase was my second CW380, my older one had one malfunction in 200 rounds, none in the next 200.

Reliable - shoot at least 200 rounds through it as recommended in the owners manual to break it in.

Accurate - a little more focus required for target shooting at the range, but they will surprise you.

Soft shooting - had an LCP and the Kahr is words more pleasant to shoot than the LCP with FMJ and self defense loads. Has a nice double recoil spring to soak up some felt recoil.

Trigger - same long but perfectly smooth trigger pull as every other Kahr pistol. A little different if you're used to Glocks, but with practice it's easy to adjust.

Price - the P380 is the pricier gun simply because theres more machining and engraving done to the slide as well as polygonal rifling.

In a gun this small, I'm not sure it's really necessary to have all that as it's most likely will be in your pocket. My PM9 with higher price is well worth it as the edges are smooth and don't catch. The CW will save you serious coin in the 380 caliber

seventh purchase from buds, and just as smooth as the first six.

the cw380 is of high quality. i also own a cm9 and a cw9. i ran the required 200 break in rounds last week. had a stoppage at round 8 or so. no further stoppages. i couldnt figure out why the slide wasnt locking back on last round. here's a tip: keep your right thumb away from the slide stop. either shoot it one handed with the right thumb resting between the slide stop and the magazine release, or with a two handed grip with your right thumb outside.
