RUGER & COMPANY INC 308 Rifle
Ruger 5601 SR-762 SA 308/7.62 16.12" 20+1 Syn Col 6pos Stk w/3 20rdMag Soft Case
The Ruger SR-762 brings the downrange authority of the .308 cartridge to
the popular SR-556 family of two-stage, piston-driven, AR-style rifles. The
SR-762 is a lightweight, quick-handling carbine that is an ideal rifle for
those who appreciate the familiar and ergonomic AR-style platform. The .308
Win/7.62 NATO cartridge is perfect for hunting medium and most large-sized
game and enhances the capability of the AR-style platform in defensive or
tactical roles. The SR-762 retains the features of the original SR556 that
make it a solid performer among AR-style rifles. It comes with a Manganese
Phosphate/Hardcoat Anodized finish and a precision-filed, chrome-lined,
cold-hammer-forged MilSpec 41V45 chrome-coly-vanadium steel barrel. It
comes with a round, smooth-sided Ruger Lightweight Adaptable handguard with
flattop receiver that features a Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny rail. It also has
a Hogue Monogrip pistol grip and comes with three 20-round Magpul PMAG
magazines, a soft-sided case, and three finger-grooved rail covers.

Purchased my SR762 in January after months of research. Priced it from Many other sources both internet and brick and mortar stores. Bud's price simply could not be beat! Love this Ruger, other than the trigger. Can't for the life of me figure why Ruger doesn't use better triggers. I have a SR556 and replaced the trigger in it after the first trip to the range. I haven't had any of the other problems. Magazines (P-Mags) cycle well. Has all needed rails and covers. Bud's system works flawlessly. Had it shipped to a FFL that was close to my location. The transfer process was quick.
I will us Bud's again. All purchases now are compared against Bud's. The purchase and shipment was quicker then I thought it would be. If you plan a purchase, do yourself a huge favor and look at Bud’s and see if they have the item you are considering.

ok ok heard the complaints about the trigger and they are right,,, kind of gritty, but hey its a mil spec trigger,,,,if you are going to own a .308 ar platform rifle you are gonna upgrade that first,,, rifle is well built, tight upper to lower interface, mags fit well, and cycles smoothly,,,, heavy, heavy barrel, you gotta love that adjustable gas system , like a fn fal, beautiful rifle, good attention to details, glad I bought it, would buy again, so should you, and as always buds on target with shipping and customer service,,, thanks buds,

Received my SR 762 about two weeks ago. Was a little nervous after the mixed reviews on the earlier serial #s. Mine is a 13XXX. It shoot fantastic.... MOA with factory ammo... Sub MOA with hands loads.... One of the best semi auto 308's I have ever shot!!!!!!!! Buy em while they are around!!!!!

Love this SR! Cycles great, ran all types of ammo, found no need to change gas settings. Ruger quality, AR platform, 7.62 power. Fit, and finish are what is to be expected from Ruger. Buy one, the price is right here to. Buds delivers as usual.

I wanted to wait until I fired a couple hundred rounds to leave a review. My first time out I fired 80 rounds and suffered a bolt jam and several FTFs and FTEs. I was firing a mix of Turkish ZQ1 .762 and Remmington .308. My 2nd time out I fired 120 rounds. This time I fired reloads and ZQ1. The reloads fired flawlessly (gas setting 2) but the ZQ1 kept failing to feed. So I tinkered with the gas setting and found that it cycled beautifully on 3. The key is knowing your rifle and ammo. The more I fired the better it got. I was hitting dead center at 50 yards with iron sights my second time out. Here is what I love about the gas piston: I fired 60 reloads and then had a FTF on my first ZQ1. So I popped out the bolt carrier to take a closer look. It was cool to the touch and the bolt was only slightly warm. There was almost no discernible carbon residue on the bolt carrier. I've never fired a rifle that ran so cool and clean. It's no wonder Ruger says you don't need much oil to operate it.

Also tried the new 25rd Magpul 762x51 mags with no issues.
