Excellent rifle condition indeed. Just picked mine up yesterday. All matching serial numbers!! It was counterbored just fyi (a little disappointing).

My only heartache is the packaging... honestly, it was disgraceful. No joke: rifle thrown in a box... no padding, no double-boxing. The bolt was wearing through the box... duh. Why pay for excellent condition to have it packaged like that??

Btw this rifle had hardly any cosmoline on it.

Gun looked great for being 71 years old and stored in a vat of grease. Barrel was clean; no rust or pitting, and the stock was in great shape. The bolt was a little stiff, but after a thorough cleaning and oiling it works like a charm.

This was my second rifle i bought, it arrived very fast and was very pleased with this. when i did a quick inspection at my ffl dealer everything was in working order took about two hours to clean some excess cosmo out but well worth it. It shoots fantastic! on a side note if the steel butt plate scares you from this dont let it. fantastic buy worth every penny, if i had more pennies i would buy more.

I received my excellent condition Mosin about a month ago but just recently took apart to inspect. I find it in the condition it was advertised in, with no wood cracks, great bluing, not a re-bore job, straight barrel, and overall, impressive for it's age, a 1943 model. However, the shipping box had a hole in it and with everyone talking about getting a bayonet -- perhaps mine fell out? Going to have to call on that one. Personally, the only thing my gunsmith commented on was that the bolt seemed a little worn, but OK when locked.

Doing the $200 stock conversion that just started shipping. No one will know the roots of this gun when done. Still haven't shot, as every screw was loose and gun was not in shooting condition due to loose bolts holding it to the stock. But, overall, with some cleanup of old varnish in sling holes, etc. -- this gun if kept in it's original shell would be fine as is. I personally felt my VIP membership was noted when they picked this one for me and mailed it out.
