This is the third HP-22 I own. It's famous in our family as the safest unsafe gun made (or vice-versa). It's pocket-friendly flat and very reliable. It's the one I grab as I head out the door for any purpose. It's convenient, compact and affordable. The only downside is that its got so many safeties its unsafe. It will take substantial practice to learn to shoot it without visually reviewing where the safety settings are, and the hammer block would be difficult to reach if cold, wet or muddy, but it's certainly unobtrusive.
I love these little guns. If it don't go bang, it's probably the ammo's fault...

I picked up my HP22 at my FFL and went right to the range. I applied drops of Bushmaster synthetic oil on the barrel and a few points on the slide. The gun fired 200 rounds flawlessly. Not one problem. Round placement was spot on - almost nonexistent recoil. I liked it so much, I gave it to my son for a B'day present and bought a DLX kit for myself. I can't wait to get it.
I highly recommend this gun.

After a quick shipping from buds (3 days from checkout) I received the .22 and look it straight to the range to make sure it fired, fired no problem . I am not a fan of all the safety features. it might as well be a paperweight..... After having a misfire in my home because the safety feature failed, I have to buy a new glass door.... I received my Phoenix Arms HP22 pistol today, and I took it to the range and shot 100 rds without any hiccups at all! I was very impressed with the quality and workmanship of this very affordable pistol! I have much more expensive 22 pistols that don't run flawless like this little jewel! It shot very tight groups also but it did shoot a just a little high, but that is much better than shooting low, as you can easily adjust to a pistol that shoots high with 6 o'clock aiming. I can highly recommend this pistol, and for the price it is unbeatable!!!

Pretty good fit and finish for the price. Shot 20 rounds so far, heavy enough so recoil is minimal; will chrono and precision target shoot asap. Quite happy with the gun; bought more as a novelty than self-defense or target shooting, was curious to see what i'd get for the low price and am anxious to shoot more with it.
