This is my first 1911 but not my first purchase from Bud's. As always, Bud's service is absolutely amazing! The Tisas 1911-A2 is fantastic! Fit and finish are great, slide fit is nice and smooth with no rattle. It's very stiff right now but I'm confident that it will smooth out after a few hundred rounds. Went to a range over the weekend and ran about 100 rounds through it. I did have a couple of ejection issues but a friend that shoots 1911's suggested I take a firmer grip as I was letting the pistol snap up. As soon as I did that, no more ejection issues. The Tisas is very accurate right out of the box. At 15 yards groups were 2-3 inches. It ran fine on Federal and Perfecta .45acp 230gr. As I work on my stance and grip, I expect those to tighten up. I ordered two extra magazines at the time I bought it, getting the advertised 8 rounds in the mags can be tough, I expect that after sitting around with 8 rounds in each one for a bit, they will relax. I experienced nothing that would make me want to give it a less than 5 star review. Since I submitted a make offer bid that was accepted I paid less than the retail price on the site but even at the advertised $399, I believe the Tisas 1911-A2 is an exceptional deal. Thanks, Bud's! Job well done!

This item was just as described. Shipping was fast. There is no reason to not purchase this pistol. It shoots everything I put in it, even handloads that have had problems in other 45's. Nice product.

I would rate the price to be more than 5 star. The gun itself needs some improvements specially the trigger, I would estimate it to be in the 12 - 15 lb pull, the grip safety is too stiff so as the magazine release. my thumb that uses to release the safety was bruised cause the safety was sharp on the edges. I have shot 250 rounds to break in the gun but nothimg improved. I have also thoroughly cleaned the gun before taking them to shoot it so there were no excuses for me to give the gun a fair rating.

The things I did to get it to work as a 1911 shoul be:
I changed the so called walnut grip with a diamond checkered redwood. Polished the safety with a dremel and applied bluing chemical. Adjust the spring of the magazine release by cutting a little out. Adjust the trigger pull to 5 lb. Thanks to You Tube there are tutorials you can follow.
