My third order from Buds, ALL went perfect. As long as you realize that you are getting a used side arm , you will be happy with this piece. It was a bit dirty , but the good news is it cleans up just fine and seems to be in really good shape. Shows some wear on the grips, but not enough to be upset about , after all, it is a police trade in. I am sure it will perform at the range like it is supposed to. I would not worry about getting one of these before they are all gone, unless you are the type that has to have everything "perfect" in your life, but is it more fun to shoot them than admire them in a glass case so they don't get scratched --have some fun SHOOT them .

I just took delivery from my FFL; it was as stated 70-80% cosmetic and 80-90% functional. Mine does look 80% but it functions 100%. I already have (2) 9mm's and a 1911 colt 45, which I acquired after retiring from my PD and they took my 5906 from me. I carried the 5906 on my hip for 20 years, before that a 38 smith revolver for 14 years. But none felt like my 5906. When I held it today, it was like greeting an old friend. Its been 4 years since I retired and held one, and it felt like coming home. I guess my other 3 handguns are relegated to the gun safe for now, they just don%uFFFD%uFFFDt feel as comfortable. Being double action, you don%uFFFD%uFFFDt have to pull back on the hammer for the first shot, or leave the chamber unloaded, which necessitates you rack one to shoot. Anyway, my 5906 was a part of me for 20 years. It was reliable, anvil tough, didn%uFFFD%uFFFDt require much maintenance and was accurate. I love the de-cocking lever. Anybody who tries to de-cock a loaded gun with the %uFFFD%uFFFDhold the hammer back with your thumb while pulling the trigger method%uFFFD%uFFFD is an idiot, and dropping the mag and unloading the chamber and de-cocking that way is a pain, especially if your mag has a interlock with the trigger which necessitated putting the mag back in to drop the hammer. One sweep with your thumb on the de-cocking lever and oila, de-cocked. So much easier to rack a round into the chamber then use the de-cocking lever to drop the hammer if you want to conceal carry chamber loaded. Since they have stopped making them, I am considering getting another one.

My first purchase from Buds..will not be my last! Excellent firearm I must say! Just needed some TLC. A good cleaning, and got new grips and recoil spring coming to me, other than that...this handgun fires beautifully as is. Upon delivery I took it to the range. We should petition S&W to start making these again!

This is a great gun. The grip was really rough so I replaced it. Had a small indention on the safety but other than that in great shape. Flawless functionality. I love it so much I put the 6906 on layaway.

The gun comes with just one magazine which is pretty much the only bad thing about it... other than that It works great! here is a gun you can trust it will go bang! whenever you need. Just clean it before you use it, it comes very dirty.
