This revolver is definitely very crude in appearance. The non functional interior surfaces show machining marks and as cast surfaces. The functional and/or wear surfaces show good machining and polishing practice. The trigger of the firearm is exceptionally smooth with a very distinct trigger break. the pull measured 5# in DA and 2.5# in SA. The action was better than my S&W 686 or my Ruger SP101. I changed out the grips. The gun shipped had the old style wooden grips which does not afford the shooter as good of control of the weapon under fire. I went with a rosewood grip. There are other aftermarket grips which will fit the gun. I put 100 rounds through the gun with absolutely no issues. I was in the paint with 3.5 - 4.0" groups at seven yards. The muzzle has what appears to be a 22-30 degree crown which can add to the precision and accuracy of the gun. I personally will not use the gun for CC, but if I had to and had no other choice, I would not hesitate to do so. This would be an excellent first gun or as a carry gun for someone on a tight budget.

Great gun for the money. Good fit and finish, locks up properly, and timing is right on! Shoots great and sights are right on. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a cheaper revolver.

I purchased this pistol with hopes of having a good gun to leave home for self defense of my family when I was away. I took this gun to the range and found after 100 rounds that the cylinder was seizing up. The gun would not fire and I had to release the cylinder had to be opened then closed to allow the gun to fire again. Rock Island has paid to get it sent back to them, but I have to wait four weeks to get it back. I don't feel I should have to wait for four weeks to shoot a new gun.

Since IL has recently legalized CCW I wanted an inexpensive handgun to keep in my vehicle. Didn't expect much for $235 but was surprised at the quality. I have a S&W mod 10 snub nose and it compares favorably. Trigger pressure is a little heavy but will get lighter after a few hundred rounds. A set of Packmayr grips really adds to this gun for large hands. If you want a cheap reliable home defense or carry gun this is a good choice.

Once you replace the factory wood grips with a nice set of Pachmayr compact rubber grips you've got an incredibly well made revolver for what you paid for it! No, the finish is not shiny and pretty, but it's even and seems durable. The single action trigger is Very crisp and the double action trigger, while not as smooth and light as a Smith and Wesson,is pretty nice and is smoothing out well after about 200 rounds and a lot of dry firing. I find myself enjoying shooting this little revolver as much or more than some of my Sigs!! Quite accurate as well. I would have no qualms using this for concealed carry and would recommend it to anyone!
