ArmaLite 308 Win. Carbine/Green/Black/16" Barrel/Tactical Tw - Blue/Black, 16" Barrel, 10+1 Rounds, Synthetic, Fixed Stock

I had originally ordered an m1a scout but that was on back order due to Springfield's likely overwhelmed order backlog. The Democratic People's Republic of Maryland lead by our illustrious dictator and chosen living god had also just added the m1a to the list of evil naughty weapons and there was a real risk of me now becoming a felon if I take it out of state for hog or big game hunting and then transfer it back. So then I saw the AR10 in inventory below MSRP and far below the almost 3K i had seen for the same model at gun shows and local dealers. I called up buds, changed the order and in a week have the AR in my hands. Will be heading to the range next week. The brilliant firearm experts in Annapolis have decided that the AR10 is not an evil black murder machine so it is not regulated by the new laws and falls into the same category as an HBAR so it was a win for me. Though I am a little disappointed as I really loved the m1a scout rifle. Will have to pick it up when I leave this state.

Great 308! Recoil is very light and the gun doesn't weigh a ton. I have an M1A as well that is fantastic but the Armalite is much lighter and the recoil is softened with the buffer spring. This gun is going to be a great North American hunting gun with a compact size, good cartrige, and light enough to pack a few miles. Won't be a bad zombie gun either. Paired with a trijicon accupoint 3X9 and the gun is MOA with 168g ammo. Will be my goto hunting gun for anything under 300m, could probably stretch it out to 600m with a 20" Barrel and x20 scope. This gun was recommended to me by a friend and now I'm recommending it.

This is a great gun, and buds is top notch. I shoot 80 rounds and it was right on target. If you want a great 308 this is it.

Buds shipped within a day or two, arrived to my FFL (in Florida) within a week. Received in excellent condition with all advertised accessories, thank you Buds! As for the rifle itself, WOW! So, I have several AR15s (5.56x45/223) from various manufacturers, as well as several 7.62x51/308 semi's, including the SA M1A Socom16, Remington 742, etc. Having said that, I had an expectation of the AR platform going in, but I have to say that this Armalite AR10 surpassed my expectation and is, in my opinion, the finest shooting x51 rifle I have ever shot. Respectfully, I have to disagree with my fellow reviewer, and state that the gas operated recoil system on the AR10 is superb, and felt recoil is almost nil. Compared to the Socom16 (both are 16" x51 carbines), the recoil difference is significantly less with the AR10, and in fact, felt recoil with the AR10 is only slightly more than that of the AR15. This is a great rifle, and comes at a great price from Buds. After shooting the AR10, I'd say that it has definately replaced the M1A as my backup rifle to the R700p in my field kit. Kudos to Armalite and to Buds!

Got the rifle in promptly from Bud's, as usual. Overall impression was fit and finish very good, although parkerizing seemed a little light on the receivers. Put some BUISs on it front and rear, fired 30 rounds. Accuracy was less than I expected, probably a combo of the unfamiliar (to me) stock and the sights. Well on the paper, just not real tight groups, but I suspect that will improve as I get used to the rifle. Function was fine for what little I fired, although kicked more than any .308 semi-auto I've ever fired. Next range visit I'm mounting an Eotech..

Big and pretty! wonderfull finnish and fit, .308 sweet power, with a high cap magazine, get ready to take out the trash!
