I purchased thips rifle from Bud's for Christmas 2011. It was my wife's very considerate gift ( whichs I looked and shopped for and purchased ... I would have wrapped it too) I wanted the perfect whitetail gun that I would keep and use for the next 10 years. I hunt in Mississippi and in my club shots of 200 yes are not unusual. I coupled a leupold vari x III 3.5-10 and so I'm good for most all distances. I took the weatherby to my local range and shots were, as expected very consistent even for a poor shooter like myself. The kick is very moderate and the trigger smoothe. I previously used a benelli 30-06 which itself was smooth with a dampened kick, the weatherby is, of course in .257, milder. Let me just say that I'm very pleased with this gun. I've had only little chance to hunt but did take one doe at about two hundred yds. The flat shooting 3400 ft/ sec with 120 grain nosler was devastating
