I had looked at these Model 64-8 revolvers for quite some time before purchasing. I was able to get one through the Make An Offer deal through Bud's at an exceptional price! The gun I received was in pristine condition around 95%. Great gun on the outside, not so great on the inside. It only fired about half the time in single action and 1 out of 10 in double action. My gunsmith told me it would be an expensive repair to the hammer and firing pin mechanism. Luckily I had purchased the warranty and Bud's shipped me my replacement before they even received my original back to them. The replacement was only about 80% but a fine solid tack driver! I highly recommend getting the warranty on any used gun purchase. I will buy again through Bud's.

Fast shipping from Bud's! This gun is in excellent condition. Just a few scratches but I'm sure they will polish out. Very well pleased!

Just picked up my Model 64-8! WOW!!! It is much more than I expected! The online description is 80% to 90%. Mine I can say is 98%! The imperfections are so minute you have to look for them. I disassembled it to check the internals and looks like I was the first one to open it. Not even a speck of dust, lint, or carbon fouling. It is dry so a little oil in certain spots was in order. It cycles perfectly. Double action is heavy but very smooth. Single action is slick it always surprises me. Barrel is shiny. Lock up is tight. I can't wait to take it to the range. Got the +P. Buds gets a two thumbs up with this awesome deal!

Ordered one right before the price jump, which is now back down to where it was when I ordered it, taking a chance with buying a used, unseen revolver. Picked it up yesterday, this is a great revolver for the price, even with the increase in price, it's more than worth it. The condition is pretty much 90%, there is some scuffing/scratches on the side plate, looks like it's from the metal snap of a thumb break holster, the sights are painted, but will clean up with lacquer thinner and a bronze brush, the front will be re-painted with a better paint. The bore, cylinder, and chambers were clean. The cylinder locks up tight, and the trigger is as expected from S&W, but, I'll remove the side plate to see if it needs a good cleaning. The Uncle Mikes grips are like new.

Awesome revolver. Received a +p. It has painted sights which can be removed. No rust or scratches and grips are in good shape. I was thinking about ordering another one but price jumped up $71!!

Buying a used gun unseen is always a bit of a gamble, but it looks like I won this time. It was the usual good service from Bud's and the revolver arrived in a few days. It inspected very good at my FFL,so home it went. It was not very dirty, but I gave it a full cleaning anyway. No rust, only micro scratches and excellent mechanical condition. The grips were Uncle Mike's rubber in good shape. The internals were also rust free with only a bit of gummy residue from previous cleaning and lube. Once cleaned I hit the range. smooth DA and the usual S&W nice SA. No issues at all and it shot my 158 JHP standard loads to POA at 10 yards. I'm very happy with the weapon and will keep monitoring Bud's used section for my next pre-owned find.

Arrived promptly. Very nice gun in much better condition than I expected after looking at similar products at other auction/used gun sites. Very happy with the gun and would buy from Bud's again based on this experience.

On the 80% side of the scale on the gun. There's some rust spots. There's also some type of heavy grease type substance imbedded into the gun for corrosion resistance I guess. They tried to clean it up but everything is moving very slowly and dragging. You can see the out line of it around the grips. I'm sure it will be caked underneath. This is a brake cleaner job for sure. Seeing the need to take this apart and clean it up inside both the gun/trigger assembly and the cylinder. Doesn't like to spin. Grips is some type of generic Pachmayer. Wish they would give some history on these. They came from some foreign country. I want to keep the gun so it's worth the time to clean it up and see how it works then. Rifling looks OK. Not too many rounds. What does bug me is the corrosion on the non stainless parts that I'm seeing right away being the trigger and hammer. I'll update later. Have to keep reminding myself that it's a 350 dollar gun. Can't see paying someone to clean as my FFL offered. Also, FYI this gun has the lock so can't be too old (lock is caked with whatever it is and no key).
