Made in the USA, the MOE SL Hand Guard for AR15/M4 firearms with carbine-length gas system and A2 front sight provides modular flexibility with M-LOK accessory slots in a lightweight, sleek, cost effective design. Reinforced, heat-resistant polymer construction provides operational durability without the weight and expense of an aluminum rail hand guard, integral riveted aluminum heat shield. M-LOK slots at the two, six and ten o'clock positions allow the attachment of optional Picatinny rail sections and other direct attach M-LOK accessories for the mounting of tactical lights, slings, grips, etc. A large front extension and lower lip protects the user from the hot front sight assembly and maximizes useable hand guard length. Easy to install utilizing existing delta ring and round front hand guard retaining cap with A2 front sight assembly*. Note- the MOE SL Hand Guard Carbine-Length is a direct replacement for M4 Carbine-type plastic, two-piece hand guards and utilizes the existing round front hand guard retaining cap and rear spring-loaded delta ring. Not compatible with piston operated AR platforms. Must be used with the triangular A2 front sight assembly, other gas blocks are not compatible. Factory sling swivel is not compatible and, if equipped, must be removed from the A2 front sight assembly.

A good, relatively cheap and lightweight option, especially if you don't need rails or mounting points galore. I really like the look and feel of this thing. It has MLOK slots on the sides and bottom. None on top. Comes with heatshields. It was kind of a struggle to install. More so than any other drop-in handguards and I've dealt with many different kinds. Maybe if I read the directions it might have gone more smoothly. But once installed, there isn't much need to remove it so it's not a big deal. It extends up to the bayonet lug on an A2 sight but does not interfere with mounting of a bayonet. A couple of very important things to note: 1. This handguard is NOT compatible with triangular handguard caps. ONLY round caps! 2. You must remove the front sling swivel from your front sight/gas block.

Excellent item but putting them on is pain. I suggest spending $10 on the D-ring tool. That makes it take 3 seconds verse 30 minutes of cuts and annoyances.

I purchased this to replace carbine length A2 Style Hand-guards on an 11.5" Adams Arms Piston upper in 5.56. I knew there would be some fitment issues before ordering as the AA Upper has a picatinny railed gas block which serves as the housing for the short stroke piston system. I ordered anyway, as these hand-guards are the only brand that I could find that would work with a standard carbine circular ring and d-ring connection on my upper and give me the M-Lok slots I wanted. Yes, Magpul does make a version that would fit without any modification, but I wanted something that ran under and around the sides of my gas block for heat shielding and a little extra grip "real-estate". This worked perfectly. A little filing of the front portion of the top piece that sits right behind the gas block and some more slight filing on the top of the ledge at the front of the top portion to allow for my folding BUIS to lock down. Other than these small mods, the fitment was perfect. These would fit and function perfectly on an upper with a standard A2 front sight. I highly recommend Magpul, and I highly recommend Buds Gun Shop!

Great handguard, pretty slim for polymer, gives more real estate for hand positions. Note, you will need to remove your front sling loop before adding the rail, maybe the only negative for some people.

This is my go-to handguard. It locks up very tight (and is therefore difficult to get on and off...so be prepared), making M-LOK items attached to it very stable. Grip is narrow and very comfortable. Handguard protrudes over the gas block to protect your hand (and things like flashlights) from the heat generated by the gas block. Even so, bayonet lug is accessible for those needing to attach a pig-sticker.

Quick and easy to install and is solid with no movement or wiggle. I had to remove the factory sling attachment, but I then added a small rail to the bottom and added a quick release sling attachment. This will give room to attach more rails as needed. Definitely a quality product and I am very happy with this choice.

Absolutely fantastic grip. I was looking for something with MLOK that would look nicer and feel better than stock, and this fit the bill. Installation was slightly more difficult than a standard drop in, but well worth it. There's a little bit of added weight, but nothing too terrible... Plus being able to add a hand stop makes it more than worth it.

This was a chore to mount on my Ruger AR556, but end result was worth it. It fits tight at the seams and feels solid, like it was designed by Ruger for my gun. I love that the front tang covers the gas block and bottom of the sight. This adds an extra measure of meaness to the looks of my AR. Bud's shipped my product quickly and the price was better than any other gun store I shopped.

Couldn't beat the price. But it didn't really fit my dpms oracle with a gas block. After a little trimming with a rotary tool it fit nice and tight. But it really dosent fit on a carbine without modification but i knew what I was getting into. Great service and I will shop with buds again.
