Very happy. Fine gun, great price, and no problems with online transaction. Looking forward to purchasing my next "last gun honey, I promise" from Buds.

I bought my 45 Colt Mountain Gun at a gun show, slightly used. It was in great shape and as soon as I saw what it was I had to have it. I put on my poker face and walked away for over $200 less than the new price. The guy selling it didn't like the cost of ammo, as we all know that weak cowboy action ammo ain't cheap. I reload, so I was tickled pink! I took her home and gave her a thorough inspection, then set about shooting her. I had picked up some ammo to try her out and generate brass. I have fired everything from cowboy loads, loads that simulate standard 230 grain .45 ACP ball ballistically, to medium heavy loads basically 250 grain bullet at about 950 to 1000 FPS. This little gun handles then all, and actually prefers the heavier stuff as it shoots that to point of aim without adjustment. I qualified for my CCW with it, and I would have no qualms carrying this weapon to defend myself or family. If Buds gets any more of these, or any other Mountain Guns, I will be among the first in line to order...a .44 Magnum would be the perfect compliment to my .45 Colt...or maybe a .45 ACP......

I've always wanted a 4 inch Smith in something other than a burn-your-face-off caliber, and thought 45 Colt was the way to go. After purchasing one, I am more than pleased with mu choice. It handles like a dream with standard loads, but the offerings from Buffalo Bore, Cor-Bon, and Georgia Arms, that are SAAMI-compliant, bring this cartridge to a new level of performance - they kick major butt! NOTE WELL - make sure your gun is can handle max SAAMI loads or you'll be plucking harp strings sooner than you'd like. I particularly like the 225 grain Silvertips from Winchester. Check out (all) the ammo at Georgia Arms; the SAAMI-compliant 45 Colt 200 grain Speer Gold Dot HP in 50 rounds sells for the same price as other brands offering 20 rounds, and it's new ammo (not reloads). What's not to like?

I've had one of these fine revolvers for about 2 years, I too ordered through Buds. This gun is extremely accurate and has plenty of power for just about anything you'd want to hunt with a pistol. Gunblast.com has several articles on the Mountain Gun, and it's that and then some. The action is butter smooth and whether you're punching holes in paper or holes in big game, this Mtn. Gun won't let you down. Oh, and yeah it was a bit dirty from the factory, but hey, that's what cleaning is for!

I also had been looking for one of these for about a year. Finally got my hands on one and was not disappointed. I agree with the other reviewers that the revolver was pretty dirty coming from the factory as it did but, hey, cleaning your piece is a labor of love, right? I chose this model in 45 LC because I believe this caliber has a lot to offer from just factory loads (not counting handloads). Just make sure you keep your ammo within SAAMI specs!! My favorite load is the Georgia Arms "Deer Stopper;" 200 grain Gold Dot hollowpoint at 1100 FPS. This load is within SAAMI but turns the 45 LC into a real animal! Plus, check the Georgia Arms prices against Buffalo Bore identical ammo: $23.75 for 50 rounds versus $29.99 for 20 - both new with identical ballistics and Gold Dot hollow points. On the milder side, the Winchester 200 grain SXT is top notch. Overall, a great gun!

I also have been looking for one of these for about a year and this deal was at least $100 less than I found anywhere else. Gun was exactly as listed, test firing residue present in all 6 chambers, (at least I know it goes bang). Now to see how it shoots. This was my first internet gun purchase and it went just as smoothly as any face to face transaction I've ever made.

All Smith and Wesson handguns come factory fired and tested; they're also fairly dirty from the factory. They aren't like new cars. Why don't you complain to S&W, who can do something about it.

The revolver is exactly what I wanted the only problem is it appeared to have been shot more than just the one time from the factory. It was full of carbon. Also the photo shows that it is a shinning stainless finish. It does say it is a satin finish, but it was very dirty when I got it. It shoots great and it is a well balanced weapon.

The revolver is exactly what I wanted the only problems it appears to have been shot more than just proof fireing. This is the opinion of three different people and myself, there was no hammer safety key included in the accessories. I was expecting a new in the box revolver. What happened ?. At anyrate I'm keeping the gun. I have been looking for this particular weapon for a year and I like it, it shoots good and straight. But, I still feel someone got the cherry and I the box
