Less is more. Many shooters with small hands are forced to carry a revolver for self-defense because the grip of a semiautomatic is too large. Enter the Aegis®, a 9 mm pistol that combines the real-world advantages of a 1911 in a platform with a smaller grip.

Small, light and accurate pistols get carried. Bulky guns get left home. Light weight, compact and absolutely reliable, Aegis® models are built in the Kimber Custom Shop for shooters with small hands. Thin grips, altered controls and rounded edges make them easy to shoot. A great single-stage 1911 trigger that breaks clean at 4-5 pounds makes them easy to shoot accurately. Standard features include night sights, 30-lines-per inch front strap checkering and a premium two-tone KimPro II finish that is both self-lubricating and extremely resistant to moisture. Self-defense is no place to compromise. Carry the best. Carry a Kimber Aegis®.

Pro Aegis® II

I like Kimbers! Now that is out of the way you know that I am prejudiced about Kimbers. I know many will disagree and that is okay, but I think that in this price range they are the best 1911's made. I collect and trade Kimbers and have had many and shoot them alot.
This is my first Ageis and it is a keeper. So far I have only put 60 rounds through it, not many but enough to tell how it shoots and if it will be reliable. It functioned perfectly, 100%, and was very accurate with no felt recoil to speak of shooting Sig 147 gr. and Hornady 124 gr. hollow points, not as accurate with cheap 115 gr. round nose. The magazine worked perfectly and I have a few more ordered. I have always been pleased with Kimber mags and have not ever had a problem, though I know a lot of people complain about them maybe I have just been luckey, I don't know.
Fit and finish is excellent and it is very good to look at. I don't like the slimline grips, my hands are to large, but I have ordered new bushings, screws and grips for it. Since it is a keeper it will be going to the gunsmith for a little work. I am left handed and it will get an ambi-safety to go with the new grips. I also have a Wilson round butt mainspring houseing to be installed. With those improvements and more rounds through it, it will be a nice carry weapon.
This is my 21st. Kimber and my 50th. purchase from Buds and both have been reliable. I like Bud's layaway alot so that if I see something I want and and am to poor at the time I can put it on hold.
In my opinion for what it is worth, you can't go wrong with Kimber or BudsGunShop.com.
