Time for some thoughts after the first 200 rounds. This is a full featured 1911 and has a great price, lot of gun for the money. This is my first 9mm 1911 and my first Taurus. I have 3 1911 45acp. (STI, Ed Brown and Tisas). Fit was much better than I expected based on other reviews and mine was tight and smooth. Finish was a little disappointing, the finish just seems to have dirt or color variation that was unusual, but I didn't buy it to look at, so not a big deal for me. The gun functioned with zero problems for the first 200 rounds. I have felt better triggers, but I actually really liked how it functioned. Just seemed to work with my shooting style. Accuracy was very good, Overall impression is the gun is a great value and fun to shoot. I have not tested any aftermarket mags yet but have some coming so I will update. This is not a $1500 gun but it will play with the $1000 ones. I will update with aftermarket mags and see how it holds up under more use.

Great gun for the price minor details on the machine work on the frame and slide. Butt overall very accurate and no problems with ciclylin rounds.

I wanted to purchase a 9mm 1911 at the end of last year and this gun was available at the price I wanted to pay. The factory features seemed great for the price, and the reviews I saw all were positive, and handguns were becoming scarce due to politics, I went with it!
However, since this was an online purchase, after receiving the gun, I had to "evaluate" what I bought! I noticed that the slide to frame and barrel to bushing fit were rather sloppy, to the point that the slide would literally "rock and roll", both up and down and side to side. I didn't have any experience with 1911's and didn't know what the "norm" was for fit.

Since purchasing this gun, I have went to numerous gun dealers locally, a couple in Florida, some in Tennessee, and even to Buds, comparing other 1911's fit and finish! What I have found is that my Taurus is by far the loosest slide fit of any other 1911 that I have checked in it's price range. The old saying "you get what you pay for" applies, and yes, there is such a thing as a "lemon"! Maybe?

Shooting mechanical performance has been flawless with no FTF or FTE, but the gun's accuracy is very picky on what brand of ammo you put through it. Maybe the case with all handguns. But, overall the accuracy of this gun is not what I expected even with the most accurate ammo.

I did replace the barrel bushing with one that had a tighter fit and the accuracy did improve some. The factory bushing had a .0065 clearance, and the replacement had a .0015 clearance. The trigger was rather creepy and rough, and a trigger job took care of that.

On the positive side, Bud's Gun Shop cannot be beat for service, price, selection and of course, free shipping!

First, I want to thank Buds for the prompt delivery! As always Buds Rocks My Face Off!!!

This gun is amazing! I have put almost 1500 rounds through it since I received it last week. No Joke! It has fed everything I've put through it, CCI/Speer Lawman, Fiocchi, WWB, Remington UMC, Winchester NATO, Speer JHP Lawman, Federal FMJ, Fiocchi JHP, and even some Winchester PDX. I only had one FFE because I was shooting off handed, and it hadn't been broken in yet. This gun is easily the most accurate gun I've shot! My friend had never held, let alone shot a 1911 and he was able to put 8 out of 9 rounds in a single hole the size of a quarter at 7 yards. I will be buying another one of these in the Blued Finish to add to my collection! Thanks Buds!!!
