I heard a lot of great things about this particular model, and can definitely attest to those reviews. The gun is surprising accurate, punching groups on top of each other with ease at 7-10 yds. This is my first 1911 and am completely at awe with its accuracy. I own a couple XD's (9mm and 45) and this gun puts those to shame regarding accuracy. Have put around 500 rounds through it with various ammo due to the current times (shortages) and have had no feeding issues at all. Would definitely buy a couple more of these if I could and as always Buds was on top of things throughout the whole process. Couldn't be happier!

FELL APART!

I received the 1911 R1 Enhanced, cleaned and oiled it thoroughly (I'm a 1911 buff). When I took it to the range to break it in, it FAILED at about 200 rounds. There was a failure to feed and when I tried to clear it, the Firing Pin Plunger and Spring FELL OUT OF THE SLIDE. The range master said he'd never seen a failure like that in all his years. I have no idea if it was a defective slide or extractor or collateral damage from the failure as I am not taking it apart and am returning it to Remington in it's as-is condition( I contacted them and they're sending a box and shipper) . I'm now very dubious about this weapon when it comes to self defense in the future.

I purchased my R1 Enhanced about 3 weeks ago and due to getting slammed by a couple of snow storms wasn't able to get it out to the range until a couple of days ago. The moment I opened the box I was impressed with the fit and finish of the gun. I ran some factory and a couple of different handloads through it and was very pleased witht he out come. At 13 yards standing unsupported on a 1/4 scale indoor police qual. target the largest 10 round group was 3 inches. The sight and feel of the gun is fantastic and recoil management is a snap as the weight and size of the gun helps mitigate some of it. Overall I'm please from the ground up with the service from Buds to the quality of the firearm. The only real draw back is if your one of those people that has to have the remington magazine because your gun is remington at $39 a pop I will be using another brand for my range mags.
