A solid, sexy, well built 1911. The Ruger SR1911 45ACP is not as heavy as it appears, and has a nice balance in the shooter's hands. The clear sights are easily visible from a standby to ready-to-fire stance for quick target acquisition, and it produces a nice 3" grouping at 20 yards for me. The recoil is almost the same as many 9mm pistols because of the weight and the 5" barrel length both help absorb the discharge. I have been a Ruger fan since I first shot my father's Single Ten as a little guy over 30 years ago, and this beauty doesn't disappoint in the slightest. Bud's went the extra mile helping get this baby in my hands after it showed out of stock after I paid for it, and even called me back for confirmation that it would be delivered and on time! I don't see customer service like this a lot these days I can honestly say, and I was pleasantly amazed by the professionalism of Bud's staff. Hope to see you at the range friends enjoying our 2nd Amendment my friends.

As others have mentioned, the transaction with Bud's was absolutely amazing. The firearm shipped quickly and I got e-mails every step of the way. This is my 2nd purchase from Bud's and I see many more in my future. Now, to the Ruger SR1911. It arrived bone dry, which is odd for a new firearm, but I was pleasant as I didn't have to do a super cleaning to get the shipping grease off before I applied my own lube. The slide was a bit stiff(I'm thinking Ruger uses an 18lb recoil spring instead of the standard 16lb)but it lightened after a good lube job and manually racking it about 50 times. Took it to the range and had zero FTF or FTE. The only problem I had was a failure to go into battery when I was loading some of my reloads-A 200gr lead SWC that no 1911 I have ever owned will load properly at first. The accuracy is awesome. Winchester WB 230gr ball target loads were slightly low left and my 200gr reloads were high right. I was going to adjust the windage, but I fired 8 of my carry rounds(230gr Federal Hydra-Shoks LE) and they were dead on, so I left the sights alone. All said and done, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would recommend this firearm to anyone looking for a good 1911.

Purchased on 4/7, arrived at FFL on 4/8, shot it on 4/9. Fed a mixture of Federal Premium Personal Defense Low Recoil, Winchester JHP, and PMC Bronze and didn't have a single issue in well over 100 rounds. Ruger has made a quality gun that shoots smoothly, accurately, and with little noticeable recoil. This gun is a ton of fun to fire. It has become my new carry handgun as well.

This was my first 1911, so I am really comparing it to all of the polymer guns I have shot. Overall, it has a great feel. I ran about 100 rounds through it without any issues. Looks great too! It will take me a bit to get used to the grip safety, but I don't see that being a problem in the long run. Shot better with this than I do my 9mm.

Very happy with the firearm and with Buds!
