Received my Colt O1970A1CS Series 70 and have no issues with what so ever. The finish and roll marks are perfect.

I'm not sure about the folks that gave it a one star rating......maybe they think Colt = Ed Brown?

Anyway, I picked this one up from my FFL on 2/22/15, and there isn't anything wrong with it. Roll marks are perfect, trigger is good for a standard 70 Series, barrel fit is very tight and slide/frame fit is typical Colt....a little bit of side to side play, and there's a good reason for that - 9.5 out of 10.

I would have given it a perfect '10', but the bluing leaves a little to be desired. But I don't think you will ever see the Royal Blue from the old days on any production gun.

I wanted a 1911 and I wanted it to be as true to the original as possible, so I chose the Colt Series 70 after much research and thought, What I received was a bit of a disappointment. The roll marks on the slide are not even, they start off nice and clear and fade out to almost nothing at the end of the marking to the point they're nearly illegible. There was a scratch on the slide near the muzzle that, while not incredibly noticeable, should not be on a brand-new pistol. The biggest issue I have with the pistol is the slide stop will not go back into the pistol and the pistol is now un-usable. When disassembling the pistol for the first time to clean the packing oil off the pistol, the slide stop went about halfway into the frame and stopped. I don't know if the slide stop is bent, there's something in the frame causing the slide stop to stick, or the barrel link is misaligned, but I now have to send my brand new pistol to Colt for a warranty repair before it's even been fired. After spending this much money on the pistol, to say I am upset, angry and disappointed would be an understatement. At least Bud's stepped up and got me a pre-paid shipping label to return it to Colt, so I'm happy with Bud's customer service.

I don't even know where to begin, this piece is an absolute beauty. Fit, finish, bluing, as well as rollmarks were all PERFECT.

Firearm: The gun is nice. It is finished in a deep, rich blue that is nicely done and even over the entire gun. The machining is done very well with no machine marks evident on the exterior anywhere. The slide to frame fit is very good, with little horizontal play and no detectible vertical play. It is better than avergage in accuracy, with high profile black sights (no dots). The grips are nicely done in Rosewood. I wish Colt would use a non-ambi grip panel on the right side but, oh well. The roll marks are level and nicely done and the "100 Years of Service" roll mark on the right side is stylish very complimentary. I am very satisfied with the Colt and would definitely buy again.

Buds Service: Prices are good. Buds shipping policy is 5-7 days shipping. They mean it. My order sat "in process" until the end of the 6th day, when it then went into "shipping". I ordered on March 1 and the dealer received it March 10. It was on the truck for 2 days. In summary, don't be in a hurry if you order from Buds, but you will get it.
