Having searched all over for an EDC pistol I think I have finally found the one. The Bersa UC Pro in 9mm suits my needs perfectly. I was very impressed with the firearm as it sat nicely in my medium sized hands. Some EDC subcompacts tend to get dwarfed in my mitts and never felt comfortable. Not the Bersa. Firm, full grip feeling of a full size firearm in a subcompact. Very comfortable getting a good grip out of the holster and bringing it into the standard two handed grip.
Sight picture could be better, but they are not night sights out of the box. However the sights can be replaced with Sig Sauer # 8 style sights. Maybe the only upgrade I will do.
Fired 350 rounds after cleaning and oiling and the Bersa ate it up. Not one failure to feed or failure to eject.
The trigger has a hefty double action pull, but I kinda like that for an EDC gun. Less likely to have a negligent discharge. Once in single action though, the trigger breaks crisp and smoothly. I was driving 3-6 groups right out of the box.
Ambidextrous safety is large and easy to activate even with shooting gloves, and the safety acts a a hammer de-cocker. No condition 1 on this pistol though as when the safety is engaged the hammer will not stay cocked and locked. No big deal for me either as I am not a huge fan of the condition 1 1911 style every day carry. You can certainly get this firearm on target and rounds downrange easy enough.
Concealment is very nice as this is a 3.5" firearm. In a good IWB holster the Bersa basically is invisible at the 3:30 carry position. As a subcompact it doesn't weigh down my belt or print in my shirt.
Overall I love this firearm. The all metal construction makes for a very sturdy and reliable EDC weapon and at 15 yards I was hitting the -0 ring on the target consistently. Not too much kick as this is a 9mm but can still punch holes 13 at a time downrange.
