Want to start by saying Buds was great. Very quick to ship out the pistol and the item arrived a day after it was shipped. E-check payment took 3 days to clear but that's pretty standard.

Now off to gun review. This particular .40 was my first one in this caliber. When it arrived everything looked great and tight and covered in gun oil. However, the EAA Witness case used for this full size .40 was a bit too tiny. A quarter of the plastic bag with the gun in it was hanging outside the box. And when I took it out to the range after having field stripped and cleaned it, that's when I noticed my shots were very erratic. At first I thought it was me being not used to the polymer weight and .40 being a big boy bullet. But when I went to shoot my .45cal EAA Witness all-steel, the grouping was sitting at 2 in at 15 yd distance. That's when I started inspecting the gun very carefully and noticed an incomplete fit between the slide and the frame (ie. "play") so that when each shot's fired, the barrel starts jumping around in random direction. Sent it back to EAA for warranty repair with Bud's help (they paid for my shipping to EAA customer service) which was great because it saved me a good $20 shipping. BUT I had to pay $20 shipping to get it back, and when I received it, the same fitting issue didn't resolve!! I was furious when I noticed the terrible EAA customer service job and had since sold it. I'm sure I got the lemon in the bag, and this gun may have been as accurate and at a really great price as others have suggested. But I'll never find out....

Just got my Witness. Field stripped and cleaned it, then took it to the range and put 60 rounds through it. Sights were spot on, and was very happy and surprised with the trigger pull. The description of the weapon did not mention the thumb safety or the painted front and rear sights, both of which are excellent additions. My other pistol is an H&K 40 and I like this EAA better, especially for the price. Service from Buds was as advertised and excellent. Would recommend without any reservations!
