You say you want a pistol to do a little plinking. Try a Witness Match or Witness Stock. Go to the range or your favorite shooting place and discover why it is just plain fun to take a Witness out plinking. It is almost like the gun frame molds to your hand. It points and shoots and you hit what you aim for. It is like taking a fine sports car out for a drive. Maybe it is time you enjoyed your plinking more.

I have had mine for approximately 3 months and hundreds of rounds. Not one misfire to date. Its a dream to shoot and is much more accurate than I am. I too ordered extra mags and ran into the problem of them not locking in. It took about 10 minutes of sanding down the plastic base shoes to fix that problem. Once it was done I was good to go. The only upgrade I am planning is to replace the front sight with a fiber optic. I have a Blade-Tech holster on back order from Hennings.

I was really excited about getting this gun, but there was just one glaring problem. The magazine would not seat after the gun was cycled. It would drop the mag just enough so that a second round would stay in the magazine. I read a fix for it online (sanding the tops of the base pad to allow the magazine to sit further in the gun) I will try it this weekend. Otherwise the gun looked pretty good and looked drop dead gorgeous. (I also tried 4 other magazines so it is not just one magazine, they are also the new k40 magazines with black followers that are supposed to work)

This is a really nice gun, and I wanted to let everyone know it does come with a rail and plastic grips. and a very nice case with combo locks

Pros and cons

Pros
Really good on the price
This gun shoots so smoth. it is very accurate. I have a CZ and I like the feel of this better but the CZ does have a better trigger pull
It feels like a tank and soaks up recoil very well, It feels like it was build for robo-cop. Fit and finish is flawless other then my AR-15 this is my new favorite to shoot and I found Mags available that will hold 23 rounds reloadable. I live way out no one else for miles so shooting is my thing and 23 rounds means less reloading. conversion kits allow you to switch from one caliber to another.
You can buy ambidextrous parts off the EAA site

Cons
sight picture kinda sucks. theres no dots there just flat black
No decocker!
The hammer does not have a half cock ! (0)(o) if you drop it with one in the chamber you could catch a hot one
It only comes with one clip.
engraving is really light SN will not last the life of the gun I'm sure of it.
Nothing in the books tell you anything about how to lube the gun or where the lube holes are.
It's only right handed. _-- I'm a lefty!

Recently purchased the EAA Witness Match 40S&W in bitone. I've put about 200 rounds through it so far. The gun is fantastic. The all steel construction greatly dampens recoil and lets you get back on target quickly and easily. I would definitely recommend the gun. However, definite problem with the magazines. In addition to the one 15 round mag that came with the gun, I also ordered three additional 15 round mags. Of the four mags, only two of them will "lock in." The other two will go into the magwell, but they don't lock in. They just drop out. I've tried everything just short of beating them in with a hammer to get them to lock in, but they just won't. Obviously a very poor magazine design when 2 of 4 mags won't work. I've sent an email to EAA Corp to see what remedy is available for the non working mags. So I rate the gun very high, the mags very low (only a 50% success rate based on my experience).
