Greetings. I just received my Witness Elite Match from Bud's (my second fullsize Witness pistol). Bud's service was excellent as always, but buyers should know that the 2012 Elite Match only ships with one magazine, has plastic grip panels instead of rubber, has all-black sights (no white dots), and the recoil spring is very light (for non +P ammunition). Serious shooters will probably want to purchase additional magazines (I recommend Mec-Gar), fiberoptic or white-dot sights, a heavier recoil spring for +P ammunition, and rubber grip panels. The plastic grip panels are annoying for one reason: Tanfoglio chose to incorporate a thumb rest into both panels. The problem is, a thumb rest only belongs on one side of a pistol. With a thumb rest on both sides, righties and lefties alike will have a thumb rest underneath their trigger finger. Tanfoglio would have been much better off sticking with the classic flat rubber grip panels. Replacement recoil springs are available from at least two major manufacturers, an internet search should give you all the information you need. I spent several hundred dollars tuning my first Witness (with excellent results) and was hoping I wouldn't have to do the same for this one. Oh well, it's money well spent in my opinion. Good luck finding a new Elite Match, they seem to be sold out everywhere. I'm so glad I shopped at Bud's when I did!
