The modern SIG SAUER® pistol story began with the P220®. In 1976 the .45 ACP P220 was introduced and quickly became recognized as one of "the most accurate 45s right out of the box." Since that time the P220 has earned an enviable record in hot spots around the world. The P220 features a stainless steel slide machined from barstock and coated with a durable, wear-resistant Nitron® finish, light-weight alloy frame with integral accessory rail, and the SIG SAUER® four-point safety system of decocking lever, patented automatic firing pin safety block, safety intercept notch, and trigger bar disconnector.

This is my first Sig firearm and my first purchase from Bud's. It won't be the last for either. Great price on this P220. It took 14 days to arrive at my FFL, have read about 3-5 delivery times but mine took longer for some reason. However, the gun is really nice. excellent fit and finish and it just has that comfortable feel in my hand. Came with two mags, even though Bud's said it ships with only one. Nice surprise. Excellent service overall and by all means an excellent firearm.

This is the third SIG I've purchased from Bud's. Excellent service and excellent guns.

This particular P220 is the basic model, matte black with 3-dot contrast sights. While SIGs are not cheap, this is about as low as you can go pricewise for a P220. If I were to change one thing on it, it would be to go with the model with night sights. It costs more but night sights are worth it (to me anyway).

I've run about 500 rounds through this gun since purchase. This being a mixture of premium 230 gr. JHP of various brands and an assortment of 230 gr. FMJ range ammo. It feeds everything without a hiccup. This gun can be trusted for personal defense if the need be. Furthermore, I've had experience with SIG-Sauer customer service in the past on another SIG I own and I've been impressed with their quality. If the gun has a problem when new, just call SIG and they will take care of you. I trust SIG as a company to do the right thing.

If you want bling, SIG can fix you up with one of their higher end models. But if you just want a quality firearm that is totally reliable and trustworthy, this particular P220 is a great choice.

Love it. Have owned alot of "Tupperware" guns and have liked many of them. They have there place. Shoot a polymer gun in 40 or 45 cal and something doesn't seem right. Shoot the sig p220 though and realize why some shooters differenciate between "tupperware" guns and "real' guns. Get Hogue grips and your driving tacks.
