The legendary 1911 design has been brought into the 21st century with the refinement today’s shooters demand. The SIG SAUER® 1911 proves that close tolerances equal complete reliability and need not be incompatible in an off-the-shelf pistol. SIG SAUER has introduced clean, distinct lines that American shooters have embraced, while retaining the crisp trigger pull, classic ergonomics, and exceptional accuracy they expect. Features traditional round-top slide.

The 1911 Traditional Natural Stainless Compact features a natural stainless, commander-length slide and frame. White controls, custom wood checkered grips, and low profile SIGLITE night sights are standard.

I have had this pistol for five months now, and fired around 500-600 rounds through it. It hasn't malfunctioned in any way, feeds hollowpoints just as easily as ball ammo. It is accurate, soft shooting and looks great. The picture here is somewhat inaccurate, grips are different and a few other small details differ from the photo. This is a compact pistol when compared to a 5" 1911, but when compared to contemporary compact pistols it is large and quite heavy. Regardless, it is a great all-purpose pistol. The price has gone up over $100 since my purchase, but I would still consider it a good buy at it's current price.

Very nice and beautiful firearm, as it has the tried and proven reliability of both the 1911 and Sig Sauer. Only problems I've had is that at first, it didn't like Wilson Combat magazines, a problem which worked itself out after just a few rounds to get the gun broken in. I have also found that it shoots a little high and to the right. The problem there is that Sig pins both sights in place on the gun, which doesn't allow for adjustment within the dovetails. The gun does group nice, and that grouping has started coming back to point of aim as it should, so it might be another issue that breaking the gun in more will rectify.

Again, the size and finish bode well for the gun, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good carry 1911 without sacrificing the accuracy and other advantages of a medium to normal 1911 barrel.

My very first order from Buds and it was fantastic! Ordered 30October and picked it up from my FFL this morning on 2November! Kid's has not been able to dent their "candies" from Halloween and my "treat" came in already. Don't know how Buds do it but an overnight shipping for us regular folks who wants to send or trade a firearm around 4 or 5 lbs with no FFL license would be around $70.00 (NV to KY) which seemingly what they do to ship it out to us. Buds is just plain awesome.

For this Sig, it was one on those OMG moments for me. It was the perfect sized 1911 that I have been looking for, for a long time, and Sig Sauer made it happen for me. It's a quasi Commander length with approximately 4.2 inches on the barrel as it was stated on it's description along with the hefty weight of roughly 2.6 lbs (41oz) with an empty magazine. A lot prettier than the stock picture provided but you can get more details at SigSauer.com and click on their 1911 Traditional Compact Stainless. Front slide serrations, front grip stippling, three hole trigger but the two things that was different from the picture at Buds was the grip safety and the round capacity which is 7+1 on this TCO45SSS with two mags. The picture has that "high ride/hand" grip safety design very similar to a Wilson Combat or Ed Brown but the one I received has a speed bump instead more closely resembling the Para LTC that I owned or a Kimber. No swirls or any tool marks I can see inside and outside of the the whole pistol like the ones I have on another 1911 that I own which is made by one of the oldest and most respected name in the firearms business. Everything seems to be in a perfect mold and accurately machined. It would be an overstatement to say that Sig gave this a dehorning treatment of some sort but the edges are acceptably smooth overall. No issues with racking the slide, pulling the hammer manually, magazine release is quick and profound, very crisp trigger pull with a minimum amount of slack and the accurate engagement of the grip safety.

Like I said, I have 2 other 1911's from the same company, but one has issues right from the start where it has to be sent back for factory work not firing a single round on my end but luckily they offer the best warranty in the business and they made everything right. I "owned" another 1911 but was a Jammo-matic even with Wilson 47D mags and Chip McCormicks with a dysfunctional slide serration that made it frustrating just loading it to condition 1 and range practice. Now I found my new favorite 45ACP from Sig hoping it will be as good as my .40 P239 from 15 years ago. Will post an update after a considerable round count and see how this works out. Initial recommendation-5 Stars
