This is my first gun ever. It took me about 2 months to decide what gun to get. I needed something that I can use for safety at home and to carry. In addition I was looking for something to shoot at target. When I came ocross P250 I fell in love from the first sight. I don't know much about guns but all the specs of it satisfied me completely. And then I found this site and obviously the best price on the internet and in the stores. Since I don't know much about guns all the reviews from this site helped me a lot. I was really confident when I was bying this weapon.
When I got it I went to shoot it right away and what can I say. I absolutely loved it. I never shot a gun before in my life but I was able to get 13 bullets out of 15 in the red on my first try at 15 yards, and on 25 yards I got 9 out of 15 in the red. During my first 100 rounds I had 2 misfires and 3 jams but I think it is because I am not that good yet with guns. One other thing that I have to mention is that it does require quite large force to pull the trigger, but I am sure that after 200 or 300 rounds it will get easier. Also, when I started to clean it, it was really easy and simple.
One thing that I didn't like is that it does not have a safety, I didn't know what Firing Pin and Double action mean so I only found out when I got it, but it is not the guns fault.
So if you are still debating on if you should get it or not, I definitely recommend you to buy it and you will not be disappointed. And if you do decide, then for sure get it from Buds they are great team to work with.

Awesome awesome gun. Sig makes very good quality guns and the P250 is a steal for this price. I use this for my concealed carry and I can't even tell that I am wearing it because it's very compact and light. I bought this about a couple months ago and took it to the range and it is accurate right out of the box. If you are looking for a quality gun with a great price, this is the gun for you.

Bud's service was good, and the pistol works fine. Once you get the hang of the DAO trigger, the accuracy is there. These pistols are very easy to clean, too.
Sig-Sauer is discontinuing this configuration of the P250 (Compact 9mm/.40/.357), as announced on their web page on 1 Dec 09. All follow-on models of the P250 Compact in these calibers will have an improved grip surface and work with non-compatible magazines and use a different holster. See: http://www.sigsauer.com/CustomerService/Product-Alerts.aspx<- br />
Also note that, as of 21 May 09, according to Sig-Sauer's web page, all of their commercial pistols are again shipping with two magazines -- Bud's is correct in that the one they sold me had only one, but Sig claims they are shipping with two again. I could not be more pleased with the service/price from Bud's, or with the performance of the P250. Cleaned it prior to the first trip to the range, easy and intuitive, but read through the manual first. No misfeeds or misfires through the first 100 rounds of Winchester white box 115g round nose. I am looking forward to trying different configurations as I can afford them, and as they become available. 5 of 5 stars from me for both the Sig p250 and Bud's.

Just got back from the range with the new gun.....all I can say is wow!! The trigger started out a little gritty even after cleaning it before shooting, but after 100 rounds, it has smoothed up considerably. The nicest double action only pistol I have ever shot. Great accuracy, feels great and is very easy to control. My only complaint is that SIg only ships one mag. Great service with Bud's. I would definately buy from them again.

Overall a good pistol. I like the nite sites and the feel is great. It shoots great. My dislike is the trigger pull feels really long. Got to be the longest trigger pull of any firearm I own. Other than that I'm happy with it.

Freaking awesome. Extremely smooth action and low recoil. My only regret is that I had to buy mine from a local shop because Bud's was out of stack and I didn't want to wait any longer. My first day at the range I was able to completley obliterate the center square at 15 yards with only 4 outside the center and at 25 yds was able to do 4 & 5 shot groups in 1 inch squares. Extremely easy to break down for cleaning. Even my wife and daughter enjoyed firing it and were able to do well at 7 & 15 yds. I am having trouble figuring out which IWB holster to use, though. I'm already saving up for the .45 kit. Buy one while you can!

What an impressive concealed carry SAO! I took this to the range for the first time this week and within 50 rounds I was nearly a perfect shot. The trigger pull is smooth and the recoil on the 9MM version is very easily managed, even for my wife who is 102LBS. I like the fact that the grips can be easily changed for a small, medium, or large hand and the overall pistol size can be made sub-compact, compact, or full size. This gun definitely impressed at the range and I think at least one of the other shooters will be adding this piece to his holiday shopping list. I also found the P250 easy to clean because the modular design allows you to disassemble all moving parts from the frame. I feel very confident carrying this pistol, it's light weight, holds 16rds in one mag, easy to conceal, and extremely accurate. I would say the P250 is Sig's version of the Smith & Wesson compact M&P or the Glock 19. I compared between the three and chose to go with Sig and I am not disappointed!

My first thought of the Sig P250 was cheep being a Sig P229 and 339 owner. But I had to take it out and shoot it anyway. I mastered the long but smooth and light trigger pull after about two hundred rounds and found the 250 to be accurate enough with low recoil to be used with confidence for self-defense. I then compared it to my 229 as it also has high capacity magazines. The 229 was heaver and harder to use and did not fit my hand as well as the 250 (much easer on my arthritis). The 250 also has a better magazine release and drop. When I got them home it took me half the time to clean the 250 because of it simple modular design. I’m looking forward to shooting this easy to use and fun pistol again.

IMichael P, left a review to this pistol and does not own one. I am not sure why a person would do that. I maybe wrong but I think a review posted for an item shouldbe wrote by those that own the model and/or purchased it here at Buds. This Sig like most Sigs I have purchased is a great buy.

IMichael P wrote a review stating this gun felt cheap, but he probably didn't shoot it; because for a field grade pistol this gun is right on target. Also, he's probably never look closely at a Glock Slide & Rail. A beveled rail made of stainless steel on the p250, which is far more better than Glock pistol tacked metal rails; the p250 also has a beefier slide that will allow for the soon to follow conversion kits for different sizes and calibers. The Glock pistol is always cocked once you racked the slide, and still Glock calls their gun a Double Action Only (DAO). "Not if the firing pin safety fails." The grip on a Glock pistol or Block pistol is flatter than the Sig p250. The Glock grip must have been made for a robot not possibly for mankind. The p250 fits like a glove in one's hand. Also, I personally own a Glock 22C, 1911-A1 and Beretta 92FS; I have also fired S&W's, H&K's, Para-O's, Colt's, Kimber's, XD's and Walter's...I'll stick with my Sig, I'd trust it to hell and back!!!

I just shot 100 rounds with a 250 9MM, and compared it against a Walther P99 9MM and a standard Sig 229 9MM.
Likes:
+great trigger pull IF you are seeking a DAO style, longish travel, feels like a really smooth revolver should. SO that is good if that is what you are seeking
+great 'shooter' accuracy, I literally picked it up first time and first 10 rounds were within 5 inch circle at 10 yards, later when I tried shooting for pure accuracy I was stunned to shoot as good or better than I do with my Berreta 92 single action (within a 2 inch circle at 10 yards). Pretty amazing for a new gun (to the shooter) and double action (for a shooter used to single action)
+lightweight, would make a very reasonable carry or home defense gun
+nice grip (although this is always subject to personal fit) that was somewhat rounded and not he 'slab sided' overly thin grips that most polymers seem to have. If you like a more robust grip you'll probably like the 250 vs other polymers (especially single stacks). If you want the thinnest, flattest gun, you';; likely not like it.
Dislikes
-if you latch the slide back and then strongly jam the magazine home, the slide catch would slip (consistently) and the slide rack slam shut. Seemed like a too light tolerance on the engineering.
Compared to the Walther
~The Walther was a beautiful gun but the trigger action is completely different, more like a single action, very much like a Glock, but without the trigger safety and it's feel under your finger.
~interestingly, my friend, show shoots a Glock, shot far better with the Walther than his Glock
~I shot just as well with the walther, but no better, which is surprising given he difference in trigger pulls
~Having said that, it is a very competitive gun on price and as a overall carry gun, I could be happy with either one
Compared to the SIg 229
~completely different guns. I would advise everyone NOT to compare a 229 to a 250. The whole feel is significantly different
Bottom Line:
Forget the whole capability of changing calibers. Just evaluating the 250 9MM on it's own merits, it is a great gun if you want a light, polymer, 9MM double action with a surprisingly smooth pull with no stacking feel and amazing 'shooter' accuracy. It is a longer and different trigger pull than a Glock of Walther single action 'feel' so if that is what, I'd advise going that way. If you want a full feel Sig then it is likely you won't prefer the 250 to a 229.

if you have not picked up this pistol i would highly recommend going to a gun store and doing so. weapon feels cheap to say the least and is poor competition among the legions of polymer pistols. i am sure it functions well, but then again so do glocks, xd's, s&w m&p etc. which dont feel like overpriced flimsy plastic. the guy behind the counter was actually embarrassed to show this product. i have a p220 and love it but would distance myself from this effort from sig sauer.

I would like to first of all say how pleased I am with the overall performance of this weapon. It's lightweight, it has low recoil, and it's compact enough for conceal. This gun is ideal for any type of shooter. You can change the function from right or left handed, and you can chose from different sizes of grip. Then on top of that this spring Sig is releasing the caliber conversion kits to change this weapon from 9mm to three other calibers of the shooter's choice. I am very impressed with this new addition to Sig, and this review wasn't from another biased Sig fan I did my research and I was very pleased with most of the aspects of this firearm. When I took this gun out to the range I didn't have any misfeeds, jams, or complications while firing. Unfortunately I am not sure what in fact Michael P is referring to because he must be talking about an entirely different weapon. I don't even understand the first part of what he's talking about, and on top of that most polymer pistols have the same feel to them I don't see how glock and XDs are so much more different. As for "the guy behind the counter" which I am guessing is the gun store salesman I don't know one salesman that is embarrassed or unwilling to show a product that he is trying to sell. Perhaps the salesman was unfamiliar with the product, just like Michael his statement, "I am sure it functions well" What do you mean you are writing a review on a weapon you are unfamiliar with and have never shot before? I would recommend all Sig models I've fired with the exception of the 22 Misquito model.
