I have had this gun for a while, my son learned how to shoot with this gun. He put 700 rounds in one day with no problem. This a very good gun for first time shooter and for training.

I bought this product quite a while ago and only recently started to write up reviews again. This is the full sized version of the current and very popular MP22 compact which I also own as well. Anyway I bought this pistol awhile back to be used as a suppressor host for a AAC Pilot 2. This is where the differences are. This pistol is made by Walther in Germany or this particular pistol is marked made in Germany and it has a threaded barrel though you need a thread adapter to use a suppressor or to use a QD mount etc. This adapter can still be found at Silencer Co etc. The newer/compact version of this pistol comes 1/2x28 threads so its easier to mount a can now. But Imo this pistol is built better than the compact etc but shoots basically the same. Magazines are thankfully still plentiful and inexpensive. The guns I have eat everything I feed em, coated, non coated to HVHP's etc. These guns are great plinkers and fun for any age yet they are not toys and can be used defensively if you had to. Remember even a 22 is better than a stick. I am a longtime gun collector and my collection includes a lot of .22's the majority of my .22's are all from Ruger. I own every single generation and model of the Ruger Mk's1-4 (for example the MKIV LITE I collected every single color), for all Mk's I only shoot one of each model/gen the rest are just put in my room/vault and last but not least a Ruger LCR 22 revolver. The only other 22's I own are a dozen or so 22 rifles and these 2 S&W MP22's not my most favored 22 but they are solid and reliable .22 semi auto pistols. Walther is known for its .22's. They make many of the big named .22's like Colt,SW,HK or whatever. Only Sig used to make their own 22 firearms like the great Sig522. Pardon the longish review only write reviews when bored or to relax etc ; ) Stay Safe!

Not a bad little trainer to work with instead of using the 9mm version. Seems a little picky on what .22 ammo it likes as are some rimfire pistols. Mine really liked Remington Thunderbolt ammunition. Easy to dissasemble and clean.

What a joy! Very accurate pistol. So far, I've run nearly 500-rounds through this with nary a problem that couldn't be blamed on cruddy ammo. Very pleased.

The pistol is great but the plastic safety flips to easily. I took it off.

I had a feed problem with the first one I bought. I sent it to S & W 3 times and the third time they sent me a new gun. The gun seems to like cci ammo.

This is a fun and inexpensive gun to operate. The kids love plinking with it. I liked it so much that I bought a second one. I would recommend this gun for fun times with the family.

My pistol shipped within the 3-7 day period as advertised. Once it shipped, the pistol arrived to my local FFL licensed dealer within a couple business days via Fedex. The product arrived in perfect condition with no shipping damage. The pistol is great. It has the Smith & Wesson quality that I depend on. It is well balanced and fits naturally in your hand. It feels like and extension of my arm. The slide is smooth. The trigger pull is very smooth. The sights are easy to use and easy to adjust; it shot a little high out of the box, and I had to drop the sights a few clicks. The magazine loads very smoothly, and feeds flawlessly. I do wish that this particular model came with an extra mag; the other similar compact models came with an extra mag. I stopped by my local Academy and snagged an extra M&P 12 round mag for $30. I have put about 500 various rounds through it already. No problems with jamming or feeding. I have already field stripped and cleaned my gun after my first tour at the range. It is very easy to dissassemble and reassemble. Cleaning the barrel is very easy, with minor obstruction from other internal parts blocking your path with the barrel brush. It is about as easy as it gets. The only pistol that I can think of that is easier would be the Sig Sauer p320. My only negative is very minor, and it is in reference to the rear sight. My buddy has the same pistol only in the compact version. All of his sights are white dot; only the front sight on mine is white dot. His sights are quite a bit easier to use. This weapon is great quality at a great price. I will and have recommended it to friends and family.

A:Michael, This 22 lr pistol does not have the 2.0 trigger. The pull and reset will be like the original M&P pistols.See 1 more answer | -

A:this model has been so popular that supply cannot keep up with demand. Current distribution is being taken by back order fulfillment at vendors. I would "Wish List" it anyway and give it a bit of time. While I am sure Buds has them on order there is no way of knowing when it will be back in stock. I suggest that you click the notify me button and Buds will email you when they are available this in no way obligates you to purchase the gun. It just notifies you that they are available again we are not buds employees we are volunteers that answer questionsSee 2 more answers |
