All I can say is this is an awesome pistol to shoot and an honor to own. I keep it in my shoulder holster every time I’m out in the woods. Extremely reliable. Not too bad as far as recoil due to its weight. Very good gun.

Ruger is a great manufacturer. There products are superior. The Redhawks are a devastating handgun with superior ballistics and performance. Bill Ruger was a genius.

This an outstanding, robust big-bore revolver. In my opinion it is superior to the S&W Model 29 N Frame in the same caliber. Trigger is smooth in DA and light, but not too light in SA. Just a quality firearm. I highly recommend.

I always wanted a Ruger Redhawk in 44Mag since I was a teenager. Well I finally got one a couple years back from Buds and have purchased many great firearms from Buds and give them an A+ rating. I bought several types of ammo from 180gn PMC JHP which shoot great to 240gn Hdy XTP, Federal American Eagle 240gn pretty watered down to some 300gn loose packed ammo all from Bulk Ammo. Also worked up some loads using Accurate#9 and Hdy XTP IN 180 & 200gns running 1300-1400FPS respectably. The pistol has pretty good recoil but the long barrel makes it more of a big push than a snap like shooting hot rounds through a short barrel. The pistol is accurate and can be shot SA/DA. Rear sights are adjustable. Set up some old milk jugs and fired from 20yards and filmed in slow motion. While the 44Mag may not be the most powerful handgun anymore, it's still a blast to shoot and it's not lacking on knockdown power!!!

The Ruger .44 Redhawk that I bought from Buds is on of my collector’s gums that I will always cherish! I had it engraved as well. Heavy duty, well made weapon that’s built to last a lifetime!

First let me say I was very grateful with and pleased with Buds Gun Shop in this transaction now to the firearm I have been a big fan of Ruger for many years have a variety of their firearms which is why I trusted them to make this purchase however when the firearm arrived unfortunately after I got home with it I noticed a nick which is visible and can be felt underneath the trigger guard and after shooting the firearm I have had three failure to Fires I was using American Eagle hollow points and it appears to be that it is not striking or lightly striking the primer I realize that some guns have issues which is why I went with Ruger because I trusted them and you would think after an $800 purchase the gun would at least work consistently overall I would still give this four stars hopefully this is a minor easily fixable issue but the point is I shouldn't have to fix anything it's brand new

I was initially torn between the Ruger Redhawk and a S&W Model 29. Once I felt the Redhawk in my hand I knew that I had made the right choice for me. The way this feels when shooting is awesome, the recoil is moderate and easy to control and the sight picture is easy to acquire in any low and bright light settings. I highly recommend this revolver for anyone looking for a serious 44 magnum.

This is a distinctive revolver sure to make any revolver enthusiast happy. What really impressed me visually from pulling it out of the box was the massive cuts of thick steel and reinforced build of the gun. It feels and handles like an industrial grade gun fit for duty in harsh environments. Shooting the Redhawk 44 7.5 inch, feels like shooting a .357 due to the heavy weight of the revolver - which makes it an excellent range gun. I shot over 75 rounds on the first day without too much of a sore hand. The mechanics of the gun, including how smoothly the cylinder rotate out, are distinctive of a quality revolver. The trigger pull is stout in pressure but distinctive and predictable. The trigger is nowhere near my smith and wesson performance center, but then it's also a 44 meant to be shot with decisive pressure rather than working a hair trigger. You won't be dissapointed. The 7.5 inch is the way too go - its heavy but looks and feel are classic.

THE TRANSACTION: This was my third purchase from Bud's; first time to utilize their 90-Day Layaway plan. Besides their price point, I have come to value Bud's service: sending confirmation emails at key steps during the payment/fulfillment/shipping cycle. Likewise, the transfer of the revolver at my local FFL was a very smooth process. THE GUN: Have been looking for a longer-barrel .44 Magnum for the past 6 months or so; the first choice was a Ruger "Bisley Hunter", but none were to be found thru Bud's .... always "Out Of Stock" when I was in position to purchase. The "Redhawk" was my second choice. This is my latest acquisition of a Ruger pistol or revolver .... as in previous purchases, I find the fit, finish, construction. and function of this revolver to be excellent. I was impressed with the factory rosewood stocks being almost a book face match in figure. But their size and smooth surface made the gun hard to handle in my hands when shooting magnum loads. So, I opted to replace them with a Hogue® Monogrip®. So far I have put some 250 rounds thru the Redhawk, an equal mix of .44 Special and Magnum "pet" handloads, with no issues. On the downside, I find the trigger pull to be a tad on the heavy side for both single and double action. Other than this, I really enjoy shooting this revolver!

I bought my Ruger Redhawk because of its reputation for being over-built and able to handle repeated abuse from top-end .44 Magnum loads. You really must experience this gun in person to fully appreciate its size and heft. At the shooting range, people nearby confuse it for a Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum. They are even further dazzled by the firey flash from the muzzle and cylinder when shooting my reloads. The orange sight ramp and adjustable rear sight are dead on and easy to pick up. The Redhawk also handles heavy .44 Magnum reloads with ease and accuracy. The trigger is smooth but a bit heavy due to its coil spring design. However, it can be easily mastered with dry firing practice. My only gripe about the gun is concerning the grip and stocks. The stocks are small and smooth, and the grip tang is shorter than what you would find on a Super Redhawk or Smith and Wesson N-Frame. With heavier loads, the stocks slip through my hand and the web between my thumb and index finger gets gouged by the hammer. As such, I usually shoot this gun with gloves, which completely eliminates the problem. You might also consider buying new stocks with a little more texture if you don't like using gloves. This transaction did not go as well as the others that I have had with Buds. When I arrived to pick up my new Redhawk, my FFL opened a box with a brand new (and very nice) Beretta 92. Before filling out any papers, I called the phone number provided on Buds' packing list and talked to the very friendly customer service rep. I answered a few questions to verify that I have been sent the wrong gun and Buds handled the rest. They coordinated with my FFL and the FFL that incorrectly received my Redhawk. All in all, it took about five weeks to receive my correct gun. While this one was fumbled, Buds handled the mistake professionally and promptly. They kept me updated on their progress as they worked through the mistake. In the end, I received my Redhawk and am pleased with the product and with Buds. I will continue to confidently use them for my rifle and handgun purchases.
