Small gun, but still feels solid.

Mine arrived with the larger grip installed, and it fits my hand pretty well. Also had the extensions installed on the two mags as well, which I also like. Simple to strip - I oiled the gun lightly prior to firing, and everything seems to work well. Ran a couple of mags of Geco semi-auto subsonics through it, and it ate them just fine. You really don't have to slap the mag in, just an extra push will do it.

Sights are nice, pretty well dialed in, and it holds decent groups. Manually cocking the first round helps - all the rest will feel the same. If not, the first pull will seem excessively hard.

Might be because I'm used to .22 rifles, but this thing is LOUD! That might actually be an advantage, given a surprise visit situation where you want to scare an invader.

I bought this to use as a CCW, because I didn't want anything too heavy, and I wouldn't be compensating for recoil too much. Will fit well in a Wally-world/Crosman holster ( SAH02 ) for 8 bucks. If you can sew on a button, it should be easy to customize that holster for whatever your carry needs are (straps and buckles to be found an aisle or two over).

For those with large hands, this might no be the gun for you - it IS small, nearly sub-compact, but it would be a good choice for instructing young-uns in the handling of handguns..

Ruger has never disappointed me - the SR22 seems to be a winner! (I am not affiliated with Ruger or Bud's in any way - just my $.02 worth)

I recently bought the SR22 and I could not be happier. I took it to the range today and ran about 300 rounds of ammunition through it. I used three different brands of ammunition and all fired very well, no jams or misfires. The SR22 is a sweet shooting pistol.

I wanted to put a few rounds through this baby before I wrote a review. Well I've sent more than 2,200 rounds down range! I'll say this, not one mishap! Field stripping is a breeze. This gun shoots fantastic! Remington Golden bullets have been the most accurate. At 50 feet I can easily shoot sub 1 1/2"" groups! I'm 60 years old and can't remember having more fun with a gun! This pistol feels great in my large hands. It sighted in quickly and love making pop cans jump! I would without question recommend this pistol to any and all! It's like shooting a small bore compact combat tactical pistol. I would not hesitate carrying this weapon either. I've got it in my range bag ready to go out again tomorrow. Do yourself a favor and buy one. You can thank me when you do your review!

My favorite gun? POssibly. I'm an enthusiast but not military or police; i just like guns and shoot at a range to keep sharp. I carry a .380 backup and have a number of 9's, 40's, and 45's. I never shot a .22 but thought it would be worth doing to keep ammo costs down. It was between this and a Sig Mosquito. My local gun shopt recommended this. Was about $400 locally. Price here is much better...I just bought 2 at $600 total.
I love it. It is crisp, cool lines, very ergonomic, delightful trigger, comes with 2 mags and larger grip, easy to strip and maintain, super accurate. I liked it so much I bought my 20 year old son one. And I liked it so much I bought my wife one (with the purple slide, of course...). I did upgrade the guide rod to a steel one I bought on line, but had no problems with it. It has never once failed to fire or eject or feed. (using Remington bucket o'bullet's 22's). And for those of you big caliber guys there was a research article I read recently that the 3 top calibers used successfully in self defense - e.g. effective at stopping a perp - were a 12 g, 45, and a 22. The reason? Because you can actually control it! So for newbies that i know who ask about a self defense firerarm I may dispense with the revolver v. semi auto, or the .357 v. 45, hollow points v. jacketed v. frangible arguments....and tell them to get a .22, esp. if they are concerned about recoil and control. Fabulous gun.
