Normally, I'm a S&W snob, but this Taurus is a big time, full-featured high capacity big bore in a compact package with a small price tag. Love the thumb safety/de-cocker and the finger/thumb index points on the frame. I've shot and carried this gun for a little more than a year now - ZERO issues (lswc, fmj, jhp, and 230g Cor-Bon DPX). It's not a bullseye gun or a pocket pistol, but it makes a big hole where you point it and it's easy to conceal on or in waist band.

This pistol is a great little one. As soon as It came in I went out to go shoot no jams, smooth. The recoil spring was a little too tight at first but that is expected. after about 50 rds through it the spring started to loosen up. It feeds ammunition though well and consistant. Easy to shoot not as much recoil as I thought for such as small light weight gun and such a large caliber. I will be using this for my conceal carry very soon as soon as I am more adjusted and comfortable with it. I really enjoy this one and would recomend for a starting off new concealler. Looking at the OSS next.

I purchased this gun back in early July and had high hopes for it. Had to wait a week to take it to a friends farm to shoot for the first time. After having waited a week to receive it after ordering it, I was excited to finally get the chance to see how it would perform. The gun looked good and seemed well made. The grips has hard ridges that look like the ribber grips but aren't. Even still, it felt good in my hand.
I loaded both magazines and inserted the smaller of the two and took my stance. I racked the slide and the bullet jammed facing up betwen the barrel and the ejector. I worked it loose and tried again - same problem. Removed the jam and replaced the magazine. Tried again to load one in the chamber - another jam. I could not get a single round to chamber from either magazine. Imagine my frustration and disgust.
So here I sit two months later waiting to get my gun back from Taurus. I had read about some of the problems Taurus pistols are known to have - magazines falling out, stovepipes and failure to feeds. I had also read some glowing reviews that semd to make those that complained seem like whiners. I had hoped I would get one without problems - unlucky me. I have a Beretta 92FS that I have had for 15 years and which has never given me a problem. i also have a Springfield XD Sub-Compact 9mm that I love - no problems. Hard for me to believe that any manufacturer, regardless of price, could continually produce a product with so many known defects. Buyer beware.
