I put a total of 500 rounds of ball through this gun with three failures. The weapon failed to feed with 7 rounds in the included magazine. Luckily I had already bought 6 additional Mecgar's for the breaking in period and they performed flawlessly. I tossed the stock mag from Auto-Ord/Kahr. I have had no issues since disposing of the included magazine.

The weapon was passed around at my LE range and got a lot of smiles and nods. Some of my fellow shooters have various 1911's from Kimber, Colt, on down to Rock Island. The comments received were that it was a solid bang for the buck. For me, the weapon was a range toy to harken back to my early days in the Army. I always thought myself to be more partial to the M-9 out of habit and comfort, but this 1911 was the first one I grabbed when two angry pit bulls wandered into my yard. No, I didn't shoot the dogs, but it was nice to have an option and this gun was the one I trusted out of pure instinct.

Had been wanting a 1911 for a while, but didn't want to spend the big bucks on one when I wasn't sure if I would like the platform. After about 2k rounds with this pistol, I have to say that I am impressed. The gun needed a good cleaning when it arrived, but it has held up flawlessly since then. I have since purchased a higher-end 1911, but can't manage to part with this one because I love it so much. If you're looking to get your first 1911 and don't want to spend a fortune, or looking for one that you can actually take out of the safe and put some rounds down range, give some serious thought to the Auto Ordnance.

The only thing about this firearm that I wasn't a fan of is the grips. They were uncomfortable in my hands, and felt somewhat cheap. That being said, they are exactly as pictured, and an easy fix you don't like them.
