My Kahr is a great pistol, well made, and reliable. I don't regret my choice at all and would do it again in a heartbeat. The only thing I would do different would be to buy it in 9mm instead of .40 S&W. After a day at the range my gun hand hurts. One cautionary note. I bought the gun for concealed carry and although the size is perfect for that purpose, it is a little on the heavy side due to it being all metal.

Excellent conceal carry, well made pistol!!!, do not mind the extra weight when firing the pistol and the recoil is reduced, to ultimately contribute to better "shot placement". I switched grips to wood checkered ones for better ergonomics, and switched to night sights for low light better performance. Double action trigger best to carry with one in the chamber, only regret that Kahr Industries did not work out a better reset for this wonderful trigger system. Low capacity but unfortunately that's what you compromise when reducing the size of the firearm for concealment, and makes you be more proficient in reloading.

MK40 elite is not a girly man gun, you have to put on your grown man pants to shoot it! I purchased it for a pocket gun primarly for summer carry or as a backup to the Glock 27 I carry on my hip. I also own the PM40, both are high quality reliable guns, I do like the all metal feel and polished smoothness pf the MK for a pocket carry. Recoil is more controllable in the MK although with some practice both are very manageable to shoot.

Very nice handgun, nice power. My dad has the PM 40, nice also but I like the "weight" of the MK 40 (elite) when shooting. I am able to ride in a car with IWB holder without difficulty. Very nice gun in a small frame. If i carried a lighter gun I would probably notice the difference in weight but the MK does not bother me at all. Smooth edges and clean profile are a plus.

Having purchased a KAHR CM-40 a month ago I had to have the MK-40 Elite to make "two-of-a-kind". They are identical in size with the all-stainless MK weighing half-again as much. Now the CM seems light in comparison. With 40 rounds through the CM it got me acclimated to the trigger and the identical "dot-the-eye" sights. The MK 40 seems much more accurate, must be the polygonal barrel coupled with the learning-curve behind me with the basic CM. The MK seems more manageable in recoil, perhaps due to the added mass. Both cycle reloaded RNFP ammo with absolutely NO hiccups. The slides lock back as they are supposed to after the last round is fired. Some of the problems occasionally mentioned as far as FTF, FTE; all the complaints mentioned about most semi-auto compact pistols in this caliber are un-founded, at least my two are flawless. The CM-40 would not "click" out of the box so I had to clearance the sear on the striker a couple thousands of an inch and it is working fine since. The polished finish of the MK Elite may or may-not be worth the extra money for some. The easy parts availability for these is also a plus. Couldn't be more satisfied with KAHR quality, particularly on the MK-40 and BUD'S prices are the best on the internet. Very happy repeat customer here.

5 stars. This is the Elite 2003 model. The perfect carry gun IMO. Per owners manual there is a 200 round break in on all Kahrs, so I was expecting some initial misfeeds. I put 200 rounds through it first day and NOT A SINGLE HICCUP AND VERY ACCURATE on a mix of CCI Blazer brass 180gr, 165gr and cheap Federal 180gr. Trigger is long DOA but very smooth and steady thru release. I've shot Ruger LCP 380, Keltec 9mm, and Kahr CW40 for carry comparisons. Ruger and Keltec are very light, but had lots of misfeeds on a mix of different ammo. My buddy's Kahr CW40 is very nice, but I wanted a little smaller frame and all stainless reliability for daily carry. Fits perfect for pocket or IWB. The "dot the i" sight took some initial getting used to but I like it better than traditional sights now. This gun weighs about a pound and a half, so if you want to run around with it in swim trunks in the summer, get a Ruger, this gun is too heavy. Quick service from Bud's as usual.
