User-friendly design is common to all Beretta small frames. The exclusive tip-up barrel allows the user to easily load a round directly into the chamber. It also assists in the safe clearing of the pistol by allowing a live round to be easily removed from the chamber and the bore quickly checked. Jamming and stovepiping problems are virtually eliminated by the open slide design shared by all small frame Berettas.

To protect against the thumb web being pinched by the slide, the top of the grip area is curved to snugly accommodate the shooter's hand. This feature also improves pistol control.

Beretta pistols in the 21 Series utilize the toughest of forgings for their barrels, while slides are fashioned from solid steel bar stock. Frames are machined from solid aluminum forgings. It features a lightweight, alloy frame, blued steel slide, tip-up barrel, and double/single action.

Sights: Notched rear sight and blade front sight for fast target acquisition.

This is a very reliable little-semi when using HV .22lr ammo like, for example, CCI Stingers or Mini-Mags--IMO this is required ammo if one were to consider using the gun in say a BUG role (even primary in some instances like say a quick late-night take out the trash prior to bed). That said, it does pretty well once broken in with even the standard "cheap" bulk ammo (of course, the .22lr round has become perhaps the most difficult to find of late). I also have the comparable Taurus PT-22 model which uses the very same tip-up barrel design as well as a few other small .22lr semis like my Phoenix HP22 and a bit larger Bersa Thunder .22--The Beretta remains my favorite .22lr mouse-semi by far (there is just something very special about Beretta products that seem to reign supreme over their competitors...

I love this pistol. Took it to the range today and put a couple hundred rounds through it and had two FTF but other than that it was a blast to shoot. For as tiny as this gun is I was surprised at how accurate it was. It is a bit harder to manipulate than I like but it's not a big deal. Overall works great for the price and I'm looking forward to taking it out again!

Just got this pistol. It works a little better than the Taurus knock-off, ( PT22), I bought a few months ago, but it has jamming problems. While it isn't as bad as the Taurus, it isn't all that great. As for a "break in period" I can't buy that. I've been shooting all kinds of guns for more than 50 years now, and don't think you should have fiddle around with a gun to get the thing work properly. That should be the job of the manufacturer. In other words, they should only send out guns that work! Again, it isn't near as bad as the Taurus which I trashed, but if it doesn't perform any better very soon, it'll wind up in the dumpster next to the Taurus. Bud's prices are great, so at least I didn't pay retail for either piece.

This gun has quickly became the gun i pick up to carry more times than not. Very solid gun, well built and reliable every time for me. I do carry stingers as far as "personal protection" but i have shot a variety of bulk, subsonic, hyper velocity, and everything in between and not had any problems with it. i did have a jam on last round of mag on maybe the 3rd or 4th mag i shot threw it and absolutely nothing but perfection since. im very pleased with this gun. super lightweight but built like a mini tank. i honestly forget its in my pocket most of the time and it just melts away in my shorts, which is nice because early may and low 90s..i dont care to lug around high cap 9mm or 45. this is what i go for, i trust it for the threat levels i feel i encounter and i will hopefully be carrying it for many many years to come. Buds was amazing as always. it pretty much goes without saying and i will be making as many more purchases as my wife will let me get away with...all from right here!...thanks guys!

A very concealable little gun but a little small for most hands. Had a problem with the barrel not locking down fully which caused an extraction problem. Easy to maintain. Accuracy is what you would expect from a very short barreled .22. Still a good gun for the price. Fun and cheap to shoot.
