The reviews on this pistol have been spot on. It is a blast to shoot. Great accuracy, comfortable ergonomics, trigger is amazing. The fact that everyone that has used it wants one is pretty cool too. That is the only negative I can think of..... So hard to find them.

First off buds is excellent. My Walther P99 AS arived at my local FFL dealer within 2 days. Buds made a customer for life. As far as the P99 im in love with this Pistol. I shot 200 rounds thought it over the weekend without any hickups. The mag release might take some getting use to for some people but I love it. Its easy to use with eather hand. Its very accurate with very little recoil. I shot this and a Beretta 92 all weekend the kick is about the same. It breaks down super easy and is easy to clean. Im 100% satisfied with my purchase. Anyone closidering the P99 just buy it you wont regret it.

This is a great gun. Super easy to field strip and the ergonomics are fantastic! I've only put 50 rounds through it so far, but I've had zero problems.
Recoil wasn't bad at all shooting Federal 155 grain FMJ's. Snappier than a 1911, but the force of the recoil wasn't bad at all.
Overall I'm extremely pleased. My only gripe is that it's easy to hit the mag release while shooting if you don't watch your grip. Hoping to put a couple hundred rounds through this weekend.

If you like the Walther P22, you will love the P99. I tried botth the QA and AS triggers, in my opinion the AS trigger is superior to and faster than the QA. Also really liked the "subdued" decocker as well as the mag release.

Ergos are excellent, fit and finish typically German. Sights are robust, simple and seem very good. I've put a bunch of rounds through it and accuracy is a little better than average, though not quite 1911 level.

The one thing that is a little disappointing is that with full house loads, my trigger finger impinges on the right mag release lever under recoil. Shooting get a little painful after 4 mags without gloves. Even with the excellent ergos and natural point, I've found it necissary to death grip the gun to keep muzzle flip under control. But then again, it's a lightweight polymer pistol shooting 40 S&W. As of yet, I've not found a poly 40 that I'm head over heals for.

The size is nice in that it falls between a service gun and a compact. Make a nice carry gun with out all the compact/subcompact compromises.

Over all a very good gun for it's intended purpose.
