Born of the traditions of the Old West, the Rough Rider maintains much of the look and feel of the legendary Single Action Army revolver, only in a scaled down version. Chambered for the .22LR and .22 Magnum cartridges, the Rough Rider is manufactured using state-of-the-art precision machinery that assures its accuracy and reliability. The cylinder lock-up is tight and the perfect timing of the action makes for a handgun that will put its shots where you want 'em.
The machined barrel is micro-threaded and inserted into the frame for the optimal barrel/cylinder gap to give you maximum ammunition performance. A hammer block mounted in the recoil shield provides extra protection and has a red dot indicator that lets you know when the gun is ready for action. A new, more authentic looking flat-sided hammer paired with new exotic cocobolo grips, makes the Rough Rider both functional and handsome. There are also other grip materials available, plus finish options include the attractive and durable Smooth Silver Satin. When it comes to the Rough Rider there are no shortcuts taken!

Ideal for hunting, plinking or western action shooting, let the Rough Rider be your choice in a new rimfire revolver.

Nice little critter killer. I like its versatility with the two different cylinders. It'll shoot anything it's not picky at all I've even shot CCI snake shot through it with really good results.

This 22 revolver is well made and accurate with the long barrel. It’s fun to plink with and the 22mag cylinder gives extra for dealing with some pesky varmints we have in rural Texas. Great gun for a couple hundred bucks.

This is the first single action revolver I've ever owned. I'm not new to revolvers, but just single actions. The way some of the folks on the various gun groups in Facebook make fun of Heritage Rough Riders, I was hesitant to buy one. I read all the reviews from purchasers here on Bud's, and decided to buy one. The price point, and the fact that you get BOTH the 22LR and the 22WMR cylinders, make this a great value. ***** I LIKE IT! ***** The fit and finish of the gun is just fine. There is a slight roughness of the painted finish on the left side forward of the cylinder. No big deal for me, and the surface can be easily painted if needed. The blueing on both of the cylinders and the barrel is good and without blemish. Both cylinders come with orange covers, which appear to be snap rings - HOWEVER - The owners manual advises NOT to be dry firing the revolver. My revolver came with a black nylon canvas holster with a retention strap, which is more t than adequate for transporting to the range, or even carrying in the wood or on a farm. The grips, Cocobola, are quite nice. Mine were smooth finished (I have since finished them with Tru-Oil, to a glossy finish). I've not yet had a chance to fire the weapon, but hope to soon. I plan on adding to this review after I shoot it, positive, or negative. The lock-up and action feels tight and positive. I got this revolver for cheap target practice at the range, and with the low price of .22LR right now, it should be a lot of fun. Service from Bud's was fast, with quick delivery to the FFL just around the corner from my house. No trouble with the FFL either, with their transfer fee and background check fee just as stated.

Carry as a snake gun on horse back. Smooth action and like the safety feature as well.

I bought this gun mainly to shoot 22 magnum. It is well made and i really enjoy shooting it. I would recommend to a friend.

I purchased the Heritage Model # R22MB6HOL Rough Rider 6RD 22LR/22MAG 6.5" w/ Holster primarily due to it's capacity to fire both .22 LR and .22 WMR ammunition along with a bargain basement price tag. To date, I've fired 100 rounds of L/R and 50 rounds of .22 WMR. All fired without incident. Accuracy at 25 and 50 feet is consistently off by 6" / 9" inches left of aim point respectively, vertically its nuts on. The pistol has fixed sites so short of bending the front site blade, there's no way to adjust them. I will accept the accuracy as something that goes along with an inexpensive, single action revolver and continue to adjust my point of aim. As to fit and finish: the fore and aft fit of the cylinder is quite loose and in my opinion, borderline excessive. The owner's instruction manual says the cylinder should spin freely in the second hammer notch position but it really doesn't. On mine, the cylinder hangs up routinely unless it is held forward while rotating. This is the case even with no rounds or casings in the cylinder. Because of the cylinder movement noted previously, I would avoid spinning the cylinder at all with live rounds loaded due my concern for the potential inadvertent firing of an unchambered round. The overall finish of the weapon is mediocre at best and poor in some areas so don't expect a display piece if you purchase one. Blued components are acceptable but center frame and side plates are rough. The pistol is manufactured with a hammer block type of safety and it comes with clear written warnings not to carry it with a fully loaded cylinder (live round under the firing pin) even with the safety on due to the potential for accidental firing if dropped. Despite the issues mentioned above, I still think this is a fair value as long as you are realistic with your expectations and mindful during use and operation.

This is a very good revolver for the price that I paid. Exceeded my expectations in finish and operation. I am pleased with it.

I am very satisfied. High value in this one, definitely. An absolute blast to shoot and reload, and it's amusing turning heads at the range for a ~150 dollar gun.
