Designed in 1975, the CZ 75 is the flagship model of the CZ handgun line with over one million produced. An entire family of pistols is available based on the basic CZ 75 design: compacts, decockers, single action only, ambidextrous, alloy frames as well as competition pistols.

The 75 B features a steel frame, a black polycoat finish, 3 dot sights, 16+1 9mm capacity (10+1 in .40 S&W) and, of course, the ergonomics and DA/SA action that have made it the most copied handgun design second only to the 1911. The ‘B’ designation is an indicator that the model is equipped with a firing pin block safety.

CZ 75 B is used by more governments, militaries, police and security agencies than any other pistol in the world. The CZ 75 is quite possibly the perfect pistol.

What can I say that has not been said about the ubiquitous CZ 75? I have gone through a great many pistols- Berettas, Rugers, Springfields, Glocks, 1911s, Kel-Tecs, Smiths, mil surp pieces, and others aside. They all of them had their advantages, but they just seemed to be missing something that I could not quite put my finger on, and I would trade or sell them to try something else. Until finally, I decided to try out the CZ75. It arrived in a nice CZ logo case and comes with two unmarked magazines, cleaning brush, lock, literature, and test target. The first thing you notice about it when you pick it up is the heft, unlike even the Beretta 92, the CZ has a steel frame, and therefore has a reassuring feel in the hand. The grip on it is absolutely perfect- not too large and not too small, and when held in the hand, everything points adn the sights line up naturally with practically no effort. The trigger guard is high cut so that you can get the highest grip possible on the pistol, which combined with its low bore axis gives you a flat shooting, low recoil design that comes back onto target quickly. The controls are right where they should be and unobtrusive- my only complaint about them is I wish the thumb safety was a little more positive when switching positions.
All of these features combine to give the pistol probably the best ergonomics of any pistol I've handled of late. I took it to the range without any dis-assembly or cleaning and put 150 rounds of cheap lacquered steel ammo through it without a single firing related issue. Ever since birth I have had slightly shaky hands that prevent me from achieving pinpoint accuracy with most firearms, but right out of the box I was able to produce groups of 5 shots that were no larger than a 50 cent piece at 20 feet. The DA action is nothing to write home about, maybe only slightly better than a Beretta 92, but the SA action is quite nice, and I would estimate the weight to be about 5 lbs. Recoil is mild due to the combination of low bore axis and heavy frame.
However, this is where I ran into a problem. For some reason, the pistol would fire the second to last round in the magazine, then eject the magazine as it came back into battery so that it was sticking slightly out of the grip with an empty chamber and one round left in the magazine. This occurred on all but two of the 10 mags of ammo I fired the day, so it was certainly worrisome. I therefore went home and contacted CZ about sending it in for repair. I received a quick response and had it shipped out the next day. Since their facility is located here in KS, they received my pistol within a day, and the repair process was very quick. I received the pistol back in exactly 1 week. CZ was easy to work with and gave good communication through the whole process. They replaced the magazine catch, and when I went and took it to the range the next day, I put another 200 rounds of cheap steel ammo through it, this time with no magazine related issues. I also had ordered a MecGar extended 19 round magazine while it was away, and was able to use it when I received it back- performance was 100% with that mag as well. While it was certainly annoying that it had that issue when I received it brand new, I understand that not 100% of a product can be perfect upon delivery, and I was satisfied with CZ's handling of the issue.
So while I cannot quite place my finger on it, this pistol just seems to be more than the mere sum of its parts. The ergonomics and accuracy are top notch, the durability is second to none, accessories are plentiful, and it fires a cheap and readily available cartridge. Simply put, I appear to have finally found the pistol that I will be keeping for the "long haul". When you also take its very reasonable price into consideration, I see absolutely no reason to spend the same amount of money or more on a plastic gun like a Glock. For newbies and veterans alike, if you are looking for a 9mm pistol and have even had the slightest thought of getting the CZ75, just stop thinking about it and do it. Trust me, you'll be doing yourself a favor.

The CZ75 is quite possibly the perfect pistol. Accurate, reliable, carries cocked and locked like a 1911, and has a 17 round capacity. What's not to love?

My CZ75 surpassed my expectations, truly is everything previously stated. Awesome piece! Nicely fills the hole in my collection for a full size 9mm.

What a great year to buy a Classic 75B since it is the 40th anniversary of the design!

I am 100% thrilled with every aspect of this 75B! I braced myself before I opened the box at the FFL because of fearing I'd find something wrong somewhere. But after a thorough examination of the gun I found nothing! The fit and finish is perfect. The trigger was not bad at all and has since smoothed out in both double action and single action.

My son and I took it to the range and ran 180 rnds of Federal 115 grn without a single malfunction. I ran an additional 8 rnds of Hornady Critical Duty, also with no malfunctions. So just under 200 perfect shots. Accuracy is perfect. The sights came factory regulated to hit POA/POI. At 7 yards both me and my son were creating single large 16 rnd holes measuring roughly 2 to 3 inches. Not too bad considering the newness of the gun and the stock trigger.

I planned to buy a CZ all the way back in June until December 26th when I finally put my deposit down. I struggled between this model, an SP-01 and the P09. I settled for the CZ Flag Ship and I'm glad I did. This is a Modern Classic, Old-World, newly-constructed all steel weapon. Yes the light weight poly guns have their mission and appeal but there is something about the fit and feel of a well made all-steel gun that cannot be appreciated when handling a poly framed handgun. Aside from 1911's, there are not many all steel handguns. Also, for me, this reminds me of a long lost 210 I once had many years ago.

This is my first experience buying from Buds and everything went smooth. I really appreciated the provision of FFL's in my area that were able to be chosen with a click of the mouse. I am more used to contacting my local FFL, asking them to send their FFL to the sender, etc. This was SO much easier. It takes some of the inconvenience and logistics out of the way of the buying experience. I VERY much appreciated the Lay Away option too. Those points combined with the huge selection here will keep me coming back. Thanks!

The other reviews are right! I was shocked at how well I shoot with this pistol. I have had several glocks and shoot well with them but I blow them out of the water with the CZ75B. I ended up selling my glock 35 because of how much I like this pistol. Wish I would have bought one a long time ago. I also have a Sig P225 and between the 2 I'd take the CZ, it's seriously that good! 10 out of 5. In my opinion there is no better out of box service pistol than the CZ75B.
