Dan Wesson Builds the best production level 1911 hands-down. This being the lowest level Dan Wesson you might think it would be a lesser gun but it is really only short on features, not on quality. The small parts are tool steel, springs chrome silicon. Dan Wesson starts with great quality parts and the fitting easily tops any other production gun. The inside of the slide and frame is finished better then many pistols exteriors with virtually no machining marks. It is as tight as many of the semi customs and has the accuracy to prove it. The trigger is perfection, All sharp corners have been removed, and the gun is buttery smooth. It has more basic sights that the higher level Dan Wessons, no front strap checkering, no mag well, alloy frame, or ball cuts but do you really need any of those things? This is the epitome of "Everything you need, nothing you don't".

Got a great deal on this awesome 1911 from Buds, $963. Gun is as tight and glass smooth as the several Wilsons, Les Baers, Nighthawks and Ed Browns that I have handled and shot (never owned any of them). For that price that is the best, hands down, production 1911, made today, but it brings semi custom and custom features and build quality, fit and finish. Very accurate and a glass rod crisp 3.5 pound trigger. Smooth front strap and rubber hogue grips to keep cost down, but grip tape and vz grips fixed all that no problem, under $100. The regular RZ-45 Heritage (stainless) runs about $1300. Still a very good deal.
