Heritage is our entry-level 1911, allowing shooters to experience Dan
Wesson quality at the most affordable price possible. Even though this
model is our most economical, it features all the same quality
components that we use in our 1911 models. A Government-size model, it has a 5-inch barrel and is chambered in .45 ACP. The slide features our Clark-style rib and wears a tritium front sight and plain black, snag-free rear. The sides of the slide have a nice brushed polish on the flats while the rounds are sandblasted to match the matte forged frame with undercut trigger guard and smooth front strap. Grips are double diamond rubber. The Heritage is a great introduction to the Dan Wesson 1911 experience and we are confident it will become an heirloom, handed down from generation to generation. Pistol is beautiful as all Dan Wesson's are. The bronze finish is fantastic looking and seems to be as durable as their black finish on the Valor which is the same finish on the frame of this pistol. The black on the Valor and the frame of this pistol is the most durable finish I have ever dealt with bar none. Action is tight but not overly so, and the sights and serrated ridge on top is well done as well as the checkered back strap. Downsides are the grips, which I find cheap for this price pistol and will be replaced, and the slide to frame fit as witnessed on the back of the pistol is not what I would consider $1,000 Worthy. That's probably just mine though. Trigger is immaculate as all DW's are and the machining on the inside of the gun is so good as to be without evidence of it ever happening. Overall I'm happy with the gun but the 2 drawbacks and me not having shot it yet leads me to a 4 star review.
