I bought the RIA 1911 Tactical 9mm 5" parkerized pistol to replace my Beretta 92FS. I wanted to save on ammo by practicing with this gun rather than with my 45 cal 1911. The weight and dimensions are the same. There are no bad features to this gun. For 66 more dollars you get a lot of improvements over the stock 45 Girsan. The finish is good with a very strong Parkerized treatment. The interior is well machined and the ramp angle for the frame and the barrel are right on the money. After firing 60 rounds I broke down the gun and examined the locking lugs carefully. There were no metal chips or scuff marks on the barrel or the slide. Head space was accurate which means the chamber depth was accurate. One magazine is provided and is of very good quality.

I have waited 6 months to write this review; put nearly 1,000 rounds through this gun, and I can say with complete confidence - buy this gun!!!! Both the factory mag and the Wilson mag work great. The gun is like shooting a 22 in terms of recoil. It points perfectly - as a 1911 should. This gun makes me look like a better shooter than I really am. I own 2 other RIA arms products (hi-capacity 45 and tactical 45) and am happy with both products. Yes, the finish isn't the greatest, but who cares. I'm not looking for a display gun, just a reasonably priced fun gun to not worry about banging around a little bit. Very very good gun for the money. Is my Kimber a little more refined? Sure it is, but for the money the RIA guns can't be beat!!

Great price for well built gun. Sights leave a lot to be desired. Transaction was great, fast shipping, no problems. Was having feed problems with the first 2 rounds of 9 round magazine. Returned the checkmate magazine to them and got a new one and it did the same thing, would nosedive on the first 2 rounds with any ammo. Called Armscor and talked with a gunsmith, explained what was happening, he had me send it back (via next day fedex at their expense). It took 4 weeks but got it back with a reliability tuneup done to it, seems to feed just fine now. Of course it didn't cost me anything for any of the repair.

Love the gun! It has a very smooth action. I already owned a RIA product and was a very happy customer of theirs. I looked at the STI Spartan but this was more in line with what I wanted to spend. The stock mag works very well and I use that along with Wilson combat 1911 9mm mags. I upgraded some of the parts on the gun and changed the grips to VZ but hands down I am very happy with this gun! The only thing I didn’t like and this was nothing to do with buds was the sights, the sights on this are devoid of any markings. I knew this upon buying, I picked up a fiber optic front sight from Fusion and wow with a little bit of fitting the problem has been solved. Buy this gun! Buds was awesome so buy with confidence!!!

As you can see from most other reviews, buds has great customer service and they ship product lightning fast. I ordered this pistol friday at noon and it arrived at my local range the following monday morning, wow. One thing to note about this pistol is that its not the blacked out model that is shown, which is my only complaint about this whole process, buds reps couldnt tell me if it was the all black or the one with noticable lettering(irritating but minor none the less). Gun shoots very well and with 300+ rounds of federa 115 bulk and 20 rounds of federal hydro personal defense 115 absolutely no ftf or fte, even with the hp's. Just keep it clean and well oiled. Armscor has a great how to clean video on their website for this pistol which i followed to a "T" and the gun has run very well. I have read alot about this gun shooting low and to the left, so i switched up my trigger pull and the left shooting went away, and ill probably go with a lower front sight to cure the low( i prefer a gun to shoot a little high anyways)Buy the mecgar nickel 9rd mags for like 18$$ and it'll have no feed problems. Thanks for the grear pistol Bud's.
